We are off to Istanbul at half term. Any ideas about places to see welcome ....... other than the Blue Mosque.

Where East meets West .......

All around that area (the old city) there is loads to see.

Topkapi Palace, but don't miss Ayia Sofia - and the grand bazaar for the odd bargain.

The Blue Mosque isn't that impressive (just big)

 

[Theatre of Trees]

Try a boat rip up the Bosphorus, with the European land mass on one side and the Asian on the other. Topkapi definitely worth a visit as is the Ayia Sofia and Galata.

Don't wipe your bollocks on, or piss on their flag. They don't like that.

Go to the massive Indoor market there,get some great bargains

 

[Dennis and Lois]

The Asian side is nicer, cleaner, friendlier than the European side
and, I kid you not, when Lois and I were there it was even sunny on the Asian side and pissing down on the other side of the Bosphorus (about 2 miles away!)

We asked a taxi driver to take us over to the East side and he gladly sped us over the river, drove us up the top of a hill (where the TV masts were) and buggered off.

That's not true any longer. They LOVE it. Especially if you are nakid from the waist up and singing "Rule Britannia."

To avoid unecessary litter problems afterwards, it is advisable to burn the flag, before stamping on it.
