The De La Warr is putting on some decent stuff lately, Goldfrapp last month. Anyone know if its actually any good as a venue? If it is I might give this one a look.

Just booked, my wife loves them and I've liked Mark Lanegans stuff since his Screaming Trees days.

DLW Pav good little venue. IC and ML were dire when they played St. Georges Church in June, which was a shame because I like the newish album and it was my birthday treat.

Have to agree with this I'm afraid .

No warmth and rapport between the two of them and the audience , but the songs did stand up well , and made me want to listen to the CD

I must have been at a different gig, because 'dire' wasnt the show that i saw.

Lanegan never says anything at his concerts. Check out various reviews of his Isobel Campbell or Gutter Twins gigs.

Most of the audience would have been gutted if their superb songs were punctuated with whooping or high fives !!

The De la Warr show should be excellent.

And (the better) Screaming Trees.

One of those collaborations which shouldn't work, but somehow does. Both albums are superb.

Screaming Trees were a great band.
I still have Buzz Factory, Even If and Especially When, and Dust..... which was my favourite cd for ages.
I wonder how they were never hailed as loudly as Nirvana, as Seattle bands went, as their output was far better imo.
