One of the suspected attackers was arrested and named as 35-year-old Yassine Sali. He was known to the security forces over suspected links to to a Salifist group, but has no criminal record.

The other attacker was killed by a firefighter in the incident, according to France’s interior minister.

Killed by a firefighter?

Who was it Jean Claude Van Damme?

That's a proper British response, there. Nothing fazes us.

"Islamic State (IS) militants have killed more than 120 civilians since launching a fresh attack on the Syrian border town of Kobane, activists say.

IS "fired at everything that moved" after entering on Thursday, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

A separate IS attack on the north-eastern city of Hassakeh has displaced 60,000 people, the UN says."

Religion of peace again

"According to medical sources and Kobane residents, 120 civilians were executed by IS in their homes or killed by the group's rockets or snipers," said Rami Abdel Rahman, who heads the UK-based Observatory.

He said women and children were among the bodies found inside houses and on the streets of the town, which is close to the border with Turkey."

town full of eejits
The bolded bit is why this enemy will be so difficult to overcome.

The fear of death is what causes people to stopfighting usually.

But Islamists WANT to die for this cause.

They believe they will be rewarded in heaven with 100 virgins.

Only if people recognise life on earth is better than the prospect of life after death can Islamists be beaten

And while so many Muslims live in poverty, downtrodden by society, I can't see many thinking life on earth is worth much.

but it is largely the islamists who are causing the circumstances that put the moderate , muslim masses in a predicament where they may feel that life is not worth living and therefore become radical in their thinking.....therefore the islamists are perpetuating the growth of a cancerous thought pattern amongst young muslims.......no....? or is it age old tribal feuds being bourne out in the modern day ,i really don't know the answer....i just can't believe that in the 21 st century there are feckers running around killing people over religion.....what is wrong with humans as a species...?? we are killing the planet en masse and killing each other over colour and religion.....the sooner this meteorite arrives the better.....:illicit thoughts:

Do you know how many civilians, including women and children have been killed in Western drone attacks that targeted 41 Jihadists?

More killings:

Islamic State claim responsibility for deadly blast at Kuwait City mosque

Abdullah al-Saffar, who was at the mosque, said the explosion took place just after midday Friday prayers, which are typically the most crowded of the week. Attendance also increases during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan, which started last week.

What the right wing reactionary faction on here fail to understand is that by condemning someone just because they follow a particular religion is not a million miles away from condemning someone because they don't follow a particular religion.

Reminds me of when we were in Sri Lanka three years ago. The hotel pool suddenly went a bit choppy and we couldn't understand why then 5 minutes later were heard the was an earthquake close to where the big boxing day one was and there was a risk of a tsunami. The Germans and Russians fled inland (which was flat for miles) but the Brits all went to the highest point in the hotel and the waiters bought up crates or beer and cakes and biscuits. The all clear came after a couple of hours and we all we back to the pool.
