Not to mention that he was nearly of pensionable age whilst doing so.........
I always thought that Lurch ( Dave Besant to the uninitiated ) would spend all his time on the treatment table given his age, but of course goalkeepers have a fairly sedentary existance on the pitch so their career is generally longer.
