Well is it ? , i personally think with the steady progress we are making we could go for the play offs , the players have shown they are gelling well over the last two weeks , so lets believe we can do it .

starting to look better yes but can't get that 7 - 1 out my mind. Surely a play of team wouldnt of got done like that.

I think mid table but maybe just maybe we can flirt with the play offs.

Dicker should of played from day 1. Massive mistake from Slade that

Slade stated that Dicker wasn't cutting the mustard in training at the start of the season.

maybe that gave hime the kick up the arse he needed.

is this the start of a turnaround from "we're going down, sack Slade" to "we're going to wint the leauge"? yes, it appears so.

Dicker is one of the key players and there is going to be some difficult decisions to be made, particularly in defence, when everybody is fit.

It is all looking promising, but seaon is still in its infancy!!

A game of opinions of course, but I think the 1800 fans calling for Dicker in the first half at Milwall, was the kick up the arse that Slade needed, to stop his odd love affair with Navarro.

No goals conceded since Dicker came on at halftime against Millwall.

I seem to remember Norwich lost 7-1 in their first season in the Premiership. Along with a few other batterings, but ended the season in third place (on negative goal difference).

Anything is possible. Although we need to take each game, one at a time. I think it puts uneccessary pressure on the manager and so on with expectations of an exact finishing position.

Exactly a year ago today Gillingham lost 7-0 to Shrewsbury, and ended up getting promoted, so it's not impossible.

I'd still be pleased with (and expect) a mid-table finish though

definitely going to make the playoffs, behind Leeds, Charlton, Hudds and MK Dons, I think we will nose just ahead of Millwall

Steady improvement and some decent football along the way with on outside chance of being around the playoffs is my hope for the season.

People saying its a touch league.. only 3 can go up, so potentially norwich, southampton and of course notts county will still be here next season, it wont be any easier

An on form team of :

-------------------------Kuipers-------------------------
---Whing--------Virgo (C)----Tunnicliffe-----McNulty-----
---Bennett------Dicker-------Crofts----------A. Davies---
-----------------Forster----Dickinson--------------------

will give any team in this division problems. Strength in depth as well with Elphick, Cox, C Davies and El-Abd (touchwood) to deputise. We've done well in the last 3 games, what we need now is a bit of consistency. If we gridn out results as well as we did under Wilkins in his second season, we have a chance of the playoffs, for sure.

Righto wideguy another one of your unjustified negative rants. Where do you get this 'no money' notion from? Can you remember a summer where we spent as much as the one just gone? I think you'd have to go back about 20 years to find one.
We may have made a shocking start to the season but 7 points out of a possible 9 shows the team are moving in the right direction. Give it a rest.

i'm not going to get carried away, but what i want to say is that the squad/team appear to be getting used to each others style of play and must surely be getting some confidence after the last three games. i thought it would take a few games for this to happen, and because of the awful huddersfield result i think we are getting stronger. last season we could barely buy back to back wins until "the great escape", yet here we are unbeaten in 3 games. yes - on paper we had the beating of wycombe and carlisle, but the boys were low on confidence and had to scrap for the wycombe result and i believe they took that same mentality to carlisle. time will tell as regards a potential play off place - but i am sure we will end up in the top half with no chance of relegation, leaving the mighty hairless one needing 3 or 4 quality signings next summer to reinforce the squad he has built this term.

Injuries give a clue

i think injuries may have worked for us this season. The back 4 last 2 games is best so far, midfield also promising and F & D working well together
