Saw a big thick catalogue of McDonald's Happy Meal toys in a second hand shop once. There's deffo people out there who collect that stuff. Apparently you need the whole set and they need to be still in the bags. Ideally you'd throw away the meal that comes with the toy aye?
Always preferred the Burger King sets meself - still got the seminal Homer-Simpson-In-A-Giant-Pink-Donut-Wheel-Thang. Um, not sure why...
I once (briefly) went out with someone who collected this sort of strange stuff. Mainly out of cereal packets but he also had a collection of plastic ice cream spoons from various cinemas.
It was before the days of the internet - although just after the Boer War - and he stored it away, neatly labelled, with the names of the people who he'd shared the meal with. And it was the "sharing" of the ice cream spoon details that made for seriously gruesome reading.
There's always a market for these strange little collections and, having spent too many years working deal with people who collected bus timetables I'd never under-estimate the potential value of it.
