Is there such a thing as an Albion Train awayday special

I'm thinking about going up to Elland Road on Feb 11. Do the club or the supporters organise any special trains? I was just thinking it would be great to go up with like-minded and there might also be a fare saving

I love a thread which reminds me of the 1970's.
I'm a real ol' boy Medway. 61 years of grieving over the stripes. However, the question was serious. Is there any sort of get together on the rail trips...or is it just a get together of mates?

TBH I used to love going on the football specials, used to go on the train with an argus photographer called Patrick Steptoe, had some great times, and for home games I would get on the bus at Whitehawk garage and go all over the place before arriving at the Goldstone.
Have to say I think that is why I like travelling up by coach to away games as it is sort of retro

I was on that train. Seemed to spend hours stuck around Neasden Junction while the time ticked away

Why would you want one? There are much cheaper fares available on scheduled trains and you can drink on them.

Will there be the extra ones running on Sat LB?

They aren't showing up on the National Rail website. Am very much hoping they are or it could be chaos!

The Southern site just shows the standard Saturday service of four trains an hour calling at Falmer, dropping to three trains an hour back to Brighton, after 8pm. The Club's website refers to trains running "as normal" (and I'm not sure what that means).

There are also other complicating factors on Saturday:-
+ Brighton University Open Day (affecting Mithras House P&R)
+ Sussex University Open Day
+ An event at the Racecourse (affecting the Racecourse P&R)
+ The South of England Cross Country Championships at Stanmer Park (6,000 people expected)

My only experience of a Seagull Special was to Liverpool in 91.

Boarded the train at Three Bridges, with the announcer urging us to "Beat those scousers"!

A great day, though it did seem to take an age to get back.

I thought the last one to be organised was for the Bristol City game, twelve days ago.
But did it stop at interim stations outside of Sussex? Was it Albion fans only? Did it have a big fat steward with a booming voice who bore a passing resemblance to Stavros from Kojak constantly walking up and down and trying desperately to enforce the 'no alcohol' rule? Unless the answer to those questions are No, Yes and Yes then was NOT a special train in the true sense, merely an additional one.

Remember that well.
The game had finished and good old British Rail were still trying to get us to Nottingham so that they didn't have to give us our money back.
Ended up stuck on the train at Kettering waiting for another engine to take us back to Brighton, a total of 12 hours sitting on that bloody train.
