Ive lived in burgess hill pretty much my whole life. 35 years. And it gets a bad rep from the snobby H/Heathers..... sure its not the nicest town in the world but its certainly not as bad as people make out

As someone said previously. There are bad roads etc in every town.

I grew up in Burgess Hll, although it's nothing special I prefer it to Haywards Heath any day. Can't see what's wrong with the place overall, there are plenty worse. Mind you it's a lot bigger than what is was in 1960. It's only a matter of time before HH and BH become one town anyway.

Hassocks
Folders Lane area was generally the nicest place to live, fairly close to station as well. Don't know much about it as I lived on the other side of town. Silverdale road and roads off that way are also pretty good I hear.

The roads around the Triangle (Olympus Burgess Hill nowadays) are generally nice as they're newer build homes. Really far from Wivelsfield or Burgess Hill stations though.

I never had any problems with living in Burgess Hill. There are a fair choice of pubs and restaurants around so it's bit more lively than Hassocks, say.

The town centre is becoming pretty empty and that's one of the bigger problems the town faces. Tescos are looking to expand which, if it goes ahead, could close some more shops down in town.

As a resident of burgess hill it is a good place with the park, numerous footy clubs, and a little cinema for a cheeky session at the pictures.

NOW, it is not perfect. There are places where it is a shithole. Think one of the worse places has to be the industrial estate, the place is just a genuine shit hole and is best of being non-existent. Oh and there's a jehovah's witness there too place too which makes me laugh :lolol:

Though the cunts that work there keep on knocking at my door. I'm tempted to say something that'l really offend them :D

Oak Hall Park/Greenlands Drive is great for commuting - 5 mins walk from station and duck pond/fields there. Plus you get straight out on the Ockley Lane (avoiding the town)out of BH towards the Downs and Brighton. Agree crap shopping centre but less than 15 mins on train to Brighton.

Happy househunting

Have lived in Buggers Hole for last 15 years after being exiled from Brighton.
As previous comments have suggested it has good and bad.
Live in a quiet close in West End Meadows near to the Woolpack pub.
Goog neighbours and never any problem parking your car.
Must agree with town centre becoming a ghost town though

Noooooooo, we'll take to the streets to stop any merging of towns. Can you not just merge with Keymer/Hassocks instead ?.

Burgess Hill
Thanks, will have a look at that. Has to be on a train line as I work in London. Hassocks is my favourite at the moment but I still have a job of persuading my other half to move north from hove rather than east or west.

No worries. I would choose Hassocks over Burgess Hill if I was to move again, but you get a bit more for your money in Burgess Hill. Also working in Burgess Hill at present which is another bonus financially.
Whilst their are some roads you would not like to live in Burgess Hill, also some in Hassocks! Good luck.

Merging Haywards Heath with Burgess Hill would benefit Haywards Heath more.
