Nice twist on words. He didn't say Rooney should. Shearer's comments were in line with what a lot of people has already thought - what will happen when those two report in for pre-season training in a week or two.

I think there was a clear stamp by Rooney and the ref saw it. The way the ref was gesturing the other players away in my view was because he already knew what he had to do with Rooney, not because he was getting talked into sending him off.
But let's see - because this will be cleared up pretty quickly by the ref himself.
