Is Queens Park Brighton the most over rated area in the city ?

For me Queens Park is the most over rated area. Just seen a semi on right move on west drive at 1.7m. Really ! There is nothing there other than a park ! For that price you can buy anywhere in the city.

Anyone else have an area they think is over rated ?

You can not buy anywhere in the city for £1.7m, there are properties which are valued at more than £3m,
Did he mean any location, rather than any property?

It is a bit expensive. It's not even got an en-suite:

The same house sold for £940k in 2008. Their neighbour sold in 2007 for the same price, then again this year for £1.25m. Difficult to imagine how this one has gone up by another £450k.

PS - Is 'Not nick rhodes' the same poster as 'Nick rhodes' who recently flounced off?

Possibly the park is nice enough & waking distance to hanover pubs. I live in hove because I hate hills (walking home, cycling, pushing buggies & now asking children to scoot or cycle etc)

Is there anywhere decent that's not overpriced?

If it wasn't for the station (and less hills) you could say the same about Preston Park

How very dare you. You swine.

We have a manor, a Sainsbury's, a deli. THREE pubs.

And the Preston Park business centre.

In an overvalued market there are still some places offering relative vfm

East worthing, lancing, fishersgate, bevendean, hollingbury, saltdean & loads further east are more 'affordable'. But nowhere really within walking distance from town

I just bought my first flat, it's on Queens Park Road.

Personally, we love it. Having lived in the centre of town and off St. James Street its so nice being somewhere quiet. Loads of good pubs. Massive bloody park to sit in which is also blissfully devoid of DFL types on the weekends.

It's a ****ing nice house though, isn't it.
It's not even detached. Nicely overlooked garden too.

If' you're going to pay that much to live anywhere then Queen's Park is it.
Each to their own, but not for me.
