If Leon ever gets to play in a talented side, he may be proved right. With a better attitude over the last three seasons (i.e without the diving and tantrums) I think he may well have been snapped up by such a side.

He seems to have matured over the last few months, thanks probably to the no nonsense style of McGhee. Who knows, Leon may well be right, he's certainly got bags of talent and he's not as greedy and selfish with the ball as Defoe. Maybe that's not a good thing though?

This from the person who thought BZ would go all the way though, so should be treated as probable drivel

Technically, having seen a lot of both players, they're not a lot in it - in terms of crossing and passing, Leon probably is better, although it's difficult to prove it at present. However, Defoe's finishing and long-range shots are a lot better.

If Knight was playing in a side where he was up front with the sort of service and support Defoe receives, he would win every day of the week.

defoe would not have done much more than leon has done for us this season. its always tought to put the ball in the net when your missing the vital ingrediant...the ball.

I seem to rememebr he did pretty well for Bournemouth, and he was hardly surrounded by world-beaters there!!!

Defoe

In all honesty are we really comparing someone who Chelsea let us have for peanuts with an England striker who is wanted by lots of Europe' top clubs and worth over £20m?

I think some of us might be allowed a smidgen of bias to come in here.

I love Leon and think he is great but NOT in the same class as Defoe Im afraid.

To be honest this poll is not as ridiculous as it first seems.

It makes a MASSIVE difference when you have quality service when it come to banging in the goals.

Look at Currie since he moved to Ipswich! (obviously Zamora is the exception that proves the rule)

Defoe is over rated and Knight has had a very unlucky season with piss poor service.

"The goals have dried up for Knight in the Championship after he fired Albion to promotion last season but the free transfer capture from Chelsea has no doubts about who is the best striker. "

I started this as a joke, and still believe it is. Defoe is roughly twenty times better than Leon

Id have to agree.

Knight is great and Im glad he plays for us and he is one of our best players but Defoe he is not.

How many of the people who said he is better would actually turn down the chance to swap Leon for Defoe?
