and not the players...
Aaron davies = Good reputation, shit for us.

Graeme Smith = Good reputation, abysmal for us, but now Hibbs seem to think he's great.

Craig Davies= Scored goals before he came, couldn't hit a barn door here, now scoring again on loan.

Liam Dickinson= Scored a few for Stockport, VERY rarely scored here (2 in the league i think) , scored on debut at Posh.

Gavin Hoyte = came with good reputation, shit here.

Jake Wright= Good reputation, now loaned out.

There are probally a few more i haven't mentioed.

There's no leaders on the pitch and no team spirit. It's just a constantly revolving door of journeyman players we wouldn't recognise in the street. Yup, its US.

When you "US", refering to the fans possible negative impact on the players, you might be right, but please keep it in context, I am not one of the "US" you refer to. Sadly there are plenty on this board who are.

Just meant us as a club in general.
I just find it bizzare how many players come with good reputations, tur out to be shit for us, and then seem to do better when they leave.

You look at the credentials of the starting eleven from the last game:

Michel Kuipers: Long serving keeper, played in Championship
Inigo Calderon: Captained a spanish team and has played in La-Liga
Adam Virgo: Former captain, played championship, Scottish Prem/Champions League
Tommy Elphick: One of the best players two seasons ago, linked with Wolves
Marcos Painter: Played top championship football/been part of a premiership team
Elliot Bennett: Been part of a premier league team
Gary Dicker: played in championship
Andrew Crofts: Former/current captain, capped 12 times for Wales
Kazenga Lua Lua: Has started for Newcastle in Premier League
Glenn Murray: "League one Berbatov", has potential to score + 20
Holroyd: Unproven talent, still looks a good buy

That doesn't include Hoyte, Forster or Colin Hawkins and his Champions league exploits. Yet that team are 21st in the league ???

It's Withdean,

and if anyone is thinking of posting that "back to back championship seaons blah blah blah bullcrap" thats was when we had just moved back to Brighton and Withdean seemed better than groundsharing with pikeys. Now we are just waiting for Falmer were doing shit.

Everything SHOULD pick up once we get to Falmer...

First thing first, why is it Withdean?!
Yes we make little noise, but neither do the away fans. How can you seriously blame a stadium for the reason we have won 2 out of 15/16 at home.

Secondly, yes it does seem to be us. Players seem to go downhill here.

You haven't mentioned Bennett who looks a shadow of the player we signed from Wolves.
Dicker who looked better last season having joined than he does now.

Have to agree. So many players in and out over the last few years...many of them 'loan rangers'.Somewhere,we seem to have lost our identity and since relegation from the Championship(because we never had the cash to spend on the quality players needed to stay up),we have gone downhill.
Add in God knows how many managers, assistant managers, general dogsbodies and here we are, once again struggling against relegation with a team that on paper at least, should be far higher up the table.
I haven't a clue how many players have played for Albion in the last three years, but I reckon it is one hell of a lot.I don't know about us not recognising them in the street,I don't think their team mates do either!!
I know you can't turn the clock back, but I loved it when we used to build a team up with 'permanent' players, loans were virtually unheard of and the Seagulls could attract players of real quality( whatever division we were in)who played a few seasons for us ,not just a few games!
Yes, it has been extraordinarily difficult for the club with the loss of the Goldstone and all the ensuing mayhem and the Directors deserve credit for holding the club together. But now, with Falmer on the horizon and ambitions to reach the Championship,we really must raise our game and stop playing 'revolving doors' with managers and players.Real money will have to be spent on qualityplayers, who must receive first class coaching..the time for excuses is over now.

A team of Ronaldos would be a pretty poor team. Thats the key word here TEAM

Its case of finding the right blend.

The problem this season has been that consistancy. When the defence was failing the strikers were bailing them out. Now the defence has sorted itself out the strikers arnt scoring.

Im hoping that this is going to click soon and all of the componants work together.

I think that maybe we are in transition and that Gus is only using the loan system so that he can get rid of those he doesn't want and bring in, for the longer term, those he does. I suspect we will see a settled team come next season

Not sure this is all true -

Arron Davies had ONE good game for Yeovil v Forest, on the back of which Forest bought him, and then found out he wasn't that good after all, and loaned him to us. We then found out he wasn't much good either, and loaned him back to Yeovil.

Dickinson scored most of his goals for Stockport in League 2, and when he was loaned to Leeds he didn't score for them and their fans thought he was crap.

Craig Davies' goalscoring record was worse than 1 in 5 before he signed for us. Not exactly spectacular.
