How would it be forgotten - Surely with everything in place it would be a good investment - do you think?

You have to remember that Perry etc have been working flat out for this and built up all the good will with planners etc.

New people arrive and then it could get very awkward to say the least it has taken a monumental effort to get htis far with Falmer.

If that is true (and I would take anything you say with a pinch of salt) I trust Dick Knight to make a decision in what he believes to be the club's best interests as he has always done.

Steve did have a consortium that made an offer but it was turned down

i am not slagging him off - so there is no need to be like that - i am saying that i think he has not got the money to take us forward - he wants us to go forward that's what he said in may wasn't it?

Yes, he wants us to go forward, and I'm sure if the RIGHT person or group with the RIGHT amount of money to achieve that came forward, then DK would do what was best for the club.

Would you prefer him to wait for that person, or would you like him to sell to the first person to wave a bit of cash under his nose? I know, maybe that Archer bloke who used to own Focus DIY might do, I hear he has a quid or two to his name...

:thud:

f***ing hell's bollocks and saints pre-f***ing-serve us. I was joking.

Why would I would that Spurs fan becoming a plastic Brighton fan in the same way he was a plastic Geordie?

Well he's got money and reduced Newcastles debts -whats wrong in that - another suggestion was gold and is name has been linked with the club anyway

Oh well, if he's minted, he's a sure-fire candidate for the Albion, like, say, William Ernest Archer. Oh, how I miss him.

You just don't get it do you?

Brighton, at the moment, until Falmer comes along, is an lemming-splatteringly APPALLING prospect for any potential investor. No ground, no real assets, no guaranteed future, £13m of debt and losing money, even on sell-outs. So stick to your tabloid-esque fantasies that someone is going to put a bundle of cash into the club before the decade is out, and put yourself into the real world for five minutes. Please.

DK is still here, ergo the offer was not good enough for him to sell up.

Simple enough to work out really.

As I remember the story coming out, the terms of the investment weren't satisfatory. The consortium's leader wanted complete control of the club, something Dick wasn't prepared to let him (or anyone else) have.

No-one has had complete control of the Albion since Autumn 1997.

That is a good point - it worries me that any bank will lend that amount of money based on the way money is now

In the field
I think that we owe it to the man who had enough fight and enthusiam to (along with others) SAVE our club. How can a man who achieved that be accused of not having the best interests of the club at heart?

There will be a time when Dick's work is done, but that time is not now. He promised to deliver us a new home so how is it fair to call for his head when we are so close to the promised land?

I find the whole thing hurtful and honestly can't believe the attitude of some people.

We are a small club with no assets and a large debt. A change of owner isn't going to suddenly change that.

Who here is willing to get rid of a man like Dick for the tiny percent chance that a rich investor is going to come along?

Not me.
