I guess not?

I mistakenly took a number of shots at Euro 04 thinking I was in digital photo mode but in my excitement had switched onto the movie setting. Now I have some odd video clips that end up disappearing into my pocket!!:dunce:

However, the original image is OK and all I want is a "still" from this.

Help!

take a 'screenshot' of it.

press the print scrn button when you get to the bit you want. it will be poor quality but i cant think of any other way of doing it. then again im not a computer expert

Yes, it is VERY possible to do want you want to do.

There is a product called Paint Shop Pro which comes with a another program called Animation Shop.

Its is available as a free trial from www.jasc.com.

Its quite a big download, so you'll need a fast connection.

Animation shop is able to import AVI files frame by frame, once imported you can save them in whatever format you wish.

If you need to know anymore PM me..

Import the AVI into Animation Shop, right click on the frame then export to Paint Shop Pro -

You can then save the frame in any format you wish.

By the way - the print screen thing with windows media player only works if you turn off hardware acceleration in options.

Try it without - it doesn't work............

How do you think I did my Avatar ????

:lolol:

Don't know, I can't see avatars, as I need them switched off at work. I'd even forgotten that I had mine set as Shrek until I changed my address recently!

I'm going to have to turn them on and have a quick look now, though, aren't I?

If you want to grab streaming video or something from media player, try hypercam (also available as a trial).

Hypercam is used to create video clips of say you using word for example, ie you can create a video clip of selecting print from the menu.

Basically you can select a screen area and "record" the action behind it.

It also also grab video from media player. But you'll need to make sure that hardware acceleration is turned off in media player.

It very memory intensive - but you can turn down the frame rate etc...

I won't bore you anymore....

While we're on the subjest does anyone know of decent software to capture streamed audio into mp3 format. There is some great glastonbury stuff streamed on the BBC website that I would love to put on CD.
