not having a pop at the OP at all but when I moved away from the UK I used to often get annoyed with expressions I wasn't used to, particularly from our friend's over tut pond. Gradually though, that has been replaced by an annoyance for British people who always ridicule English spoken by other English speaking countries. It's like an annoying uncle who makes the same joke OVER and OVER again.

Forsooth verily I say unto thee it is a foul desecration of thy sacred mother tongue and is only used by ye knaves and flibbertygibbets. English is like, fixed. man. Dig it? Groovy.

Normally I'd be one of the grammar nazis but I actually like this one.

My reason is it has a level of mischief in there... My Bad what? My bad decision, my bad luck, my bad judgement... It could be "sorry I did that" or "sorry you spotted that".

Hate it; but not as much as my most hated one. Said it before & I'll say it again. Chill.
In my book, people who use this phrase instantly become tossers in my book.
"What you up to this weekend?"
"Just chilling out".
Chill out? How about you get the f**k out of my sight you slice!!!!!!!!!!!

Can we throw in people that use the phrase "that's sick"?

I'll take your "thats sick" and raise you a "natch".

Hearing ANYONE come out with that just makes me want to gouge out their eyes with a rusty spanner and vomit copiously into the gaping sockets.

"My bad". I find this phrase incredibly annoying. I know language evolves etc. Does anybody else hate this term. What's wrong with mistake or fault.

It's not just you!! I can't stand it, and it annoys me beyond all logic.

"My bad" is pretty annoying, but it is true that many "Americanisms" are actually the original English way, it's us who have changed in some cases - e.g. "gotten".

This!

The kids should be using words that irritate the stuffy middle aged twits (not that they have to try that hard), we did when we were kids.

Language continues it's evolution, deal with it.

Worthing
I remember when the word basically was defined as : in summary; put simply.

Instead of having to listen to some **** drone on for an hour about a subject.
I know it's not new but it still feckin annoys me.

Oh and hey-ho......... What ?
