This is the best day of non Brighton related football for years!!!

I love England and I love St Georges Day, but I f***ing hate Man United.

As I've said in other threads, a Rangers fan wouldn't want Celtic to win a game against another team just because they come from the same city would they.

Exactly the same principal here.

Also don't forget that Manure fans sing anti english songs at their games and songs celebrating the death of British soldiers in The Falklands. Wankers like that will never get my support and IMO nor should they from any self respecting Englishman.

Whats the song they sing that celebrates the death of English soldiers in the Falklands then ?

Still at work, and there is a big group taking great delight in every aspect of tonight's game. Funnily enough, they're all bitter Arsenal fans.

I could understand City, Liverpool and at a push Leeds, but for anyone else cheering on Barca it's all a bit small-time and green-eyed.

Exactly, i seem to be the only other person who wanted united to win tonight, no i'm not in tears but i would just prefer to see an english team lift the trophy in front of the whole of the world, giving the english league a good name

Exactly how I feel. As the clock ran down I was increasingly gutted that they obviously weren't going to get back into it.

There seems alot of people on here that seem to be happy Englands Man Utd lost tonight that were supporting he reinstatement of an English St Georges day only last month ..

One can't have it both ways surely ???

It's possibly because Man Utd think they're bigger than England.

Reinstatement of St George's Day? Did they take it away?

Anyway, I won't support them just because they play in England. Not sure why I should?

Sums it up for me. Anyone supporting Barca just to be anti-Man Utd is just bitter, end of. If the Albion were as successful as Man Utd we wouldn't be complaining would we? Anti Man Utd for the sake of it is such a shallow, bitter, unhealthy mindset to have.

Starting a revolution from my bed
To me, Man Utd don't give a toss about winning it for the English League. They are in it for themselves, as with most teams. My hatred of Man Utd stems from cornering the market and exploiting the circumstances. They were one of the main voices that ensured that home gate receipts were not shared and they have 'inadvertently' stolen a whole generation of fans from surrounding/countrywide teams.

Try and tell that to Hiney :lolol:

I disagee, would you also support Scotland because we are both from the UK? Probably not.

Again same principal.

No I probably wouldn't because they are a different Country. I am from England. Man Utd are from England. Barcelona are from Spain. Why would I want a Spanish team to beat an English team? I like Spain and Barcelona is one of my favourite cities in the World, but I still wanted an English team to win.

Hell, if it came to it (although the probability is less than zero), I might even (secretly) have wanted Palace to win if they were in it.

To me that stinks of double standards. That or you just draw the line at an illogical point.

So, you wouldn't want a team from the same city to win.
You wouldn't want a team from the same set of Islands to win
But you would want a team from the same country to win.

I just don't get it. But it is up to you and I wont preach to you but you cant expect other English people not to be overjoyed that the scum have been beaten tonight.

Haven't heard it for some time but it includes the words "Simon Weston and his pals" and is sung to the tune of London bridge is falling down.

Sick fuckers.

You've talked about this 'song' United supposedly sing about Falklands soldiers on several threads, but can't be specific. I don't think it exists. Is there any evidence at all it has ever been sung, or is it just total bollocks?

Recent songs I have actually heard sung are at Tevez by other fans ('You should have died in the Falklands') and Ronaldo ('You should have died in the tunnel' - reference to his car prang). I would say United are far more sinned against than sinners in the sick songs department over the last 30 years, though it isn't a contest and any examples shame those involved.
