No I disagree Mr tinx. I think what happens is that if you post a view that 90% of people disagree with then 90% of the responses will be opposed to your view. Some will be polite ("I disagree") and some will be rude ("What a load of bollocks") and a very few will be offensive ("why don't you shut your f-ing mouth you ****"). That's what happens in life and it doesn't make someone a 'leper'. I've found myself posting minority views on a few occassions (the hunting ban is STUPID!), and having stuck my head over the parpet I expect to get it shot off in a variety of ways.

And I personally LOVE the threads that turn into personal abuse and slanging matches!

Couldn't agree more. If you don't want people disagreeing with your opinion why post it here? Do people want everyone to agree with what they say. How dull.

Nothing new here. NSC ebbs and flows, posters and cliques come and go. People do sometimes have a life outside NSC, though they are a number it seems that dont that might put some off. However, it seems to me there are more new posters around, maybe a mod could confirm.

There are quite a few quality posters who just aren't around at the moment, or who only post rarely.

Are they sick and tired of it all?

This board has been littered with crap since time eternal Yorkie, I don't think it's a new phenomenon, kind of like the old joke about going to Millwall to see a fight and a game of football breaks out - you come on here to read the crap and surprise surprise there is a post on BHAFC.

As to your quote above, this whole concept of 'quality posters' who only have to post a smiley and many on here are rushing to massage their ego for such a fantastically constructed post I could do without. Labelling people as quality posters buys into the whole clique thing and disrespects those who either don't have the intellect or literary skills to 'compete' with these so called quality posters but that doesn't make them any less a BHA fan in my book and their opinions any less valid.

A quality poster is not someone with a lot of posts or even a literary skilled person but someone you would find interesting not matter what the subject matter.

In your opinion. But why label people and create a hierachy? Are you a 'quality poster'?

Surely whether a person is a quality poster is a unique in the eye of the reader.

What I think is dross yoiu may think is shakespeare, thats the beauty of the board, a cross section of Albion fans.

I have no problem with any of the posts on this board - attention-seeking or otherwise - except where the poster deliberately sets out to undermine one of the players. I don't mean the 'MM should play X instead of Y because X is better' but 'what does MM see in Y - he's absolutely cr*p and should be sacked immediately to save us money' or 'Dear Insider, why did we buy Z?'

I'm very proud of the way this board operates and the wide diversity of comment (and commentators). I don't think any other club's unofficial board has such a close relationship with the team, or has done so many things to help it and others. Whenever I go to the Internet this is always one of the first places I visit. But because of this I'm sure we get a tremendous amount of interest from the players and their families (we know that we have one such person regularly visiting us). So we also owe the club a duty of care to be seen to be behind them, not constantly knocking them. After all, we consider ourselves to be supporters of The Albion and we should behave as such.

When I'm watching The Albion play I adopt a policy of 'If I can't say anything good then I won't say anything at all' perhaps posters on here should use the same rule.

I just think when there isn't too much tension re: BHA, the posts get a bit more wayward.
If we were fighting for the playoffs, or in the bottom 4 the majority of posts would be football related.
If I've been to the pub on a Friday and come back a little bit worse for wear, I find the random threads pretty funny.
It could be worse we could be talking about Spurs tickets...

Jeez, we sit here all day giving everyone our opinions on any old subject and you wonder if we're attention-seekers?

Although we're linked by a common passion, what really unites us is our egotism and love of prattle.

That is so true! Out of my usual circle of people I socialise with and the people I go to matches with not one of them posts on any messageboard (except Attila obviously). Some have seen messageboards and think that all the people who post on them are attention-seeking dorks. Hard to argue with that view sometimes!

Good post. I've been here for 7 years and on balance, NSC is better than ever in my view. I've always been irritated by some (and I know I irritate others) but I find the attention seeking only a minor irritant. I'd rather have Richie Morris, Kinky, Danny Seagull etc on here than not.

There are some very, very boring posters on here, and I find them mind bogglingly irriating - usually because they bring down a quality thread to shite levels.

(or diffuse entertaining slanging matches. ;) )
