Fans come on hear and moan that they haven't got tickets for West Ham (IMO Season Ticket holders should get priority as we provide the money to the club).

They also moan about Dick Tight and lack of investment in the team, then say that they only go to away fixtures as the atmosphere is better and they can't get tickets at home games.

Well, it's about time all of you 'fans' who only go to away games, the more appealing home games or not games at all understood a few basic business facts. If you don't go to home games, the club doesn't get enough money coming in, so guess what, it can't afford to buy players nor pay their wages. DK is not mega rich, so accept that for the time being. He's done a good job in difficult circumstances, but some people can't accept reality.

Now, if that's too difficult to understand, let me know and I'll try to write it very simple terms and a large font.

I'm getting really pee'd off with the constant sniping of posters who don't go to Withdean. Yes, it is a dump, we do get wet and the atmosphere is crap, but it's all we've got. If you were a real fan of the club, then you would support the club. The club needs more money coming in. Away fans and armchair fans don't help the club. If you wanted to get to a game but can't afford a season ticket, you can get a ticket for any game you want at the moment, as we don't sell out. Shit, you can buy on-line and collect at the shop before the game.

Also, I would guess that a lot of the regular away fans are STH's as well. I don't buy this impression that there is a separate group of fans who only go to away games.

P.s. happy new year to you all.;)

I find i moan more at a result if i wasn't at the game - if your there like i was for Yeovil it doesn't seem quite as bad.

You see the result - get the jist of what went on from radio etc and other NSCers who weren't there you see 2-1 defeat at home and you think - FFS not again.

Whereas i was at Yeovil and it was plain to see they were the better team.

Well said Larus. I couldn't have put it better myself. I don't enjoy the lack of atmosphere, getting drenched (as yesterday), poor facilities etc at Withdean but I go because I support the team.

It also beggars belief how some people fail to understand the amount of money and effort that have been put into trying to get a new stadium, which is long overdue, and have a pop at DK & MP who, in their opinion, are apparently to blame for not yet securing one.

Yes, maybe the price charged to see 1st division football is on the high side but what alternative is there? Do people want the club to go into administation or even worse, liquidation? Is a team worth supporting only when it'as doing well? That's what breeds glory seekers. Of course we all want to see good football and for the team to do well, but for goodness sake, staying away is not going to assist that, only the opposite.

Good posts by both Larus and Fran H. - quite agree with both points of view..

I guess we wouldn't hear it though if we didn't have NSC...so i suppose being a place where people can express their opinions/frustrations sometimes has a down side...

No one ever gets on here and rants when things are going well eh? Good news and all that?

yep to right.
I don't go to matches now because I live in wales cannot drive and I am disabled.

we have a team of youngsters who are doing their best for the club and getting some good results and look like they might just keep us in this league, the only thing that we should all be moaning about is the lack of a good ground which would bring us money and all that goes with that.

we will know if falmer is ours soon then the money will come in investment until then its a waiting game and a hoping game hope we can stay in the league we are in and hope we can hold on to our precious players and manager and hope I live long enough to see them in the premier league playing good football on a good playing surface on a ground in Brighton.
I could die happy then.

as for atmosphere there were times at the goldstone when you could hear a pin drop, not many I must admit but then the people of Brighton present company execpted have never been over passionate about anything until their backs are against the wall.

and although I live in wales I am a Brighton boy born and bred and always will be up when they win and down when they lose and shouting at the screen when things are getting good or bad.
maybe the new year will bring better things.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL  :albion:

I could go to Old Trafford and watch a winning team every week, as it is just down the road and I do some work for the club.

The standard of football, organisation, atmosphere (as much as I hate to admit it), facilities and opposition are all far higher than when watching the Albion.

But I would rather eat my own testicles than do the above, because it ain't the ALBION, and it ain't in the BLOOD.

It will all settle down once the FA Cup is done and dusted.

At the moment, the team have not been roundly critisised ( on the radio par example) as most people have views one way or the other about west ham tickets.

My fear for january is that our whole season could fall apart in two weeks ie Defeat at West ham, Bristol City and in the league.

However I believe this team has the quality to bounce back, they just need to believe a bit more.

As for the fans stuff....well its the Albion isn't it. Reading other teams boards I do not think I have read so much stuff chucked at eachother as you get on here. I know a lot of it is the NSP?NSC " lets wind up those geeks" type stuff, but I think the WHU tickets has brought it to the fore. We are a very disprit bunch of individuals.

I dont understand the "I dont go to home games beacause I dont like Withdean" excuse, nobody likes Withdean ( apart from the odd masochist) we go to support our team not because we like getting soaked or for a bit of peace & quiet. The surroundings shouldn't make a bit of difference, & I know I'll get blasted for this but,
anybody who can afford it,doesnt live miles away or isn't embroiled in some personal tragedy should get their arses to home games. Don't forget that the only purpose of Withdean is to keep us ticking over til we have a proper ground even if, god forbid, that never happens I dont like Withdean is not an excuse or a reason , its a blatant cop out by people who cant be bothered but make most noise when things are difficult.

Agree with every word.

I would go to watch the Albion in whatever division they were in. We all know why we are at Withdean, we know it's a dump and we know we will get wet when it rains, so why the whingeing about yesterday? I would still go even if I KNEW that every game for the rest of the season was going to be as wet.

I don't want a medal for it. I just want to see my team play.

Me too.

Also, some fans seem to forget the dark days of Archer, Gillingham etc. Compared to those days, the last 5 5-6 years have been like winning the lottery.

A sensible thread on NSC. Is this a record?

FWIW I still look forward to each game because it's my team, the Mighty Albion playing and I'm grateful that I can see them playing in Sussex. So there.
