Is anybody thinking about attending euro 2012?

No need to post in this thread if your not, or there all overpaid or whatever.

Genuine question as I imagine it will be cheap and somewhere different with a few interesting places to stay. Plus the added fact of beer and football

1 - it won't be cheap - its a godsend for all the economies that need money . So prices will be hugley increased across the board for the whole tournament
2 beer - all matchdays will probably be dry days in the venues with all the bars being shut.
3 football - England will be shite as usual

4 enjoy the cabbage soup

Applied for various match tickets at several different venues just to see random games when they first went on sale, we didn't get allocated any tickets at all, every match was oversubscribed!

Will do a few games, after the last few tournaments, I'm not going to waste a large chunk of my annual leave allowance and cash on this!

Should be good though, won't be 'cheap' though and could be some big distance travelling involved. Will prob fly into Germany and get a train around

No, but I might try and follow the team GB soccerball team. Its something different, isn't it - plus the friendlies before the Olympics are probably going to be at Villa Park, which is nice and local to me.

Cobblers! Same thing comes about before every tournament and is never the case. Sure if you eat/drink where UEFA/Fifa tell you to you'll pay over the odds (that said a pissy warm budwiser in SA was still less than £3). The big chain hotels will be as expensive as they'll always be. You'll be able to get cheap digs no probs.

2 beer - all matchdays will probably be dry days in the venues with all the bars being shut.

Again, I can't believe that for a second especially that I expect the tournament will be sponsored by one of the big drink brands.

3 football - England will be shite as usual

That I do agree with you on. I'm going to get semi and final tickets on the off chance we get there but I think it's highly unlikely. Have no interest in spending any time in either Poland or Ukraine.

Started watching England away atthe Euro Championships in 1980 (an 'interesting' first match against Belgium)

Went to several tournaments over the years (the most enjoyable being Italia 90) and loads of qualifiers, but really can't be bothered any more.

Good Luck to those who do go, the last time I watched England in Poland it was pretty lively.

Been to Poland once and loved it, great country, shame no games in Krakow though.
Think either me and the old man, or some mates are going to fly out and just enjoy the atmosphere, with the hope of picking up tickets to any games off locals who bought them up cheaply. Not bothered who I see, just an excuse for a week or so away.
