[Technology] Irritating Samsung Galaxy phone issue

I have had this before and I think the wise tecchies on here provided an answer - unfortunately can't find the post.

A couple of the AVG four coloured squares icons, plus a Malwarebytes icon have joined together in a little group and taken up residence on my home screen. I can move the group around but, try as my might, cannot get rid of them. I have tried clearing caches and other similar stuff but they will not budge.

Wise words welcomed on a solution.

Can you not open the group, then individually swipe/hold the icons to the edge of the screen (or a button, whatever it is on your phone) to 'remove' or 'uninstall'?

Tap on a Folder.
Tap and hold an App.
Tap on Remove.
