Party broadcast saying Hammond's speech was sh*t. Also rather conceited to think I was trying to persuade you of anything.

I'll forgive your latest outburst and put it down to yet another senior moment or possibly drink (a common affliction for Corbyn luvvies) :p

Well you certainly come across as someone constantly trying to influence opinion in favour of the tories. I certainly don't imagine that you imagine I am your target audience. But I am one of the poor sods who have to read all your endless entreaties (I nearly wrote wheedling....). You are like the rain - all one can think is 'will it EVER stop?'

So what makes you think that per vinum fit stupiditas is trumping in vino veritas? Or indeed that vino has anything to do with it? Well, I guess I'm due a bit of abuse, after having called you out as a **** :lolol:

Anyway, like the old FG you are impervious to criticism, or even opprobrium, which is a strength (albeit it makes you a bore) so good luck to you. As you were.

(ps 'Corbyn luvvie'? Yeah, me and Ernest, marching on together, waving the red flag :lolol:)

As I have said before the last GE was the first time I have voted Tory at a GE for ages, mainly because they are the only party seemingly intent on delivering Brexit. Not that I would have any worry about identifying as a Tory voter. When the opposition are Marxist loons this choice will continue despite the obvious failings of the government. I expect you are of the same view on their competence and the oppositions failings and I don't believe my sodden ramblings will change your vote in the slightest.

Bloody Worthing!
TM reminds me of a teacher who knows she is deadly dull and has 'lost the class' but desperately hangs in there in the (usually vain) hope that things will get better. Perhaps today will be the tour de force speech and the great turnaround. Unfortunately the ever popular Mr Johnson - always the pupils' favourite - got in there first and rather upstaged her ...... and knew exactly what he was doing. How things have changed since the 1980s when the (then) Friday afternoon Thatcher speech would be delivered to an adoring conference where the only issue was who would be the first in the audience to collapse with exhaustion during the standing ovation.

Am I the only person who thinks she isn't 'hanging on in there' ?

The reason she is still there is nothing to do with her, it's more like who, in their right mind, would take on this crock of shit. Even Boris's ego isn't big enough to make him want it. He's trying to get himself sacked to distance himself from the whole fiasco and then come back in 12 months time with the 'This wasn't the Brexit we voted for' line.

No, they'll leave her out to dry for the next 12 months (possibly a little longer) then blame her for the total **** up that is Brexit,

Boris and the most ardent Brexiteers at the forefront shouting 'She didn't deliver what we voted for' still completely oblivious to the fact that no ****er had any idea what we voted for (and still doesn't). It could be hilarious if there weren't so many people going to suffer because of it.

Just uncovered the old OMD effort. It's so tempting to just insert 'Teresa May' for 'Enola Gay'.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark- Enola Gay (LYRICS)

Enola gay, you should have stayed at home yesterday
Oho it can't describe the feeling and the way you lied
These games you play, they're gonna end it all in tears someday
Oho Enola gay, it shouldn't ever have to end this way

Valid comparison actually between Therasa May and an ancient B29 nuclear bomber.

You could well be right, but in his defence (Can't believe I'm doing that) what choice did he have? The Brexiteers would've split the party if he hadn't. His mistake rather like May's was to run such as piss poor campaign...

It was a poor campaign and not helped by Corbyn's feeble contribution.

This. What decent politician with half a brain (there are some) would want this gig currently? The exit negotiations are going badly and will continue to go badly the EU cannot and will not allow us to exit easily. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of exiting and the final agreement or lack of it, this will doubtless lead to pain in the economy in the short term, again who will be blamed?

And there endeth the latest party political broadcast, by its loyal servant, on behalf of the conservative party

Yes, you have definitely persuaded me :lolol:

As opposed to the socialist failure of which you speak (NHS, minimum wage?) - what was all that conservative success - how did that end? Oh, yes. It was failure (you lot got booted out - UK politics is a revolving door, not a hegmony, no matter how much you'd love one).....

If you were a little less partizan and a little less like a small boy bragging about how much richer your parents are, you might have your campaign on behalf of the conservatives taken a bit more seriously. Instead your bleating is driving me, reluctantly, into the arms of Jeremy. :wozza:

Oh Harry,
I know you are of the Leftie persuasion, but I thought better of you.
You can't really want a couple of old Marxists to run/ruin the country , can you?
I am a Tory voter, but am thoroughly dispirited by the present shower.
Nevertheless, I have got to put up with my 'dispiritism':???, because the thought of Corbyn and McDonnell truly frightens me.
I agree with the point you make in one of your other posts..........bring on Scottish Ruth.
It is truly dreadful that this country is so short of political leaders , of any party. I reckon Screaming Lord Sutch would have been PM now, if he had lived.
P.S I always had a soft spot for Harry when he signed from Burnley. What a long time ago that was!

The 'Iron Lady 2' needs putting out her misery, even I'm feeling mildly sympathetic right now. This is toe curling stuff...

Its an interesting point you make, because I feel exactly the same, only diametrically opposite. The thought of this Tory government continuing in power truly worries me, and therefore we cannot possibly allow it to happen. This means that somehow this Labour front-bench has to form a government, even though it does indeed scare me a little. I try and focus on the positives, hopefully re-nationalising utilities and services (but not industries I hope), re-setting some of the most egregious tax cuts that the Tories have put in place during austerity and forming a positive post-brexit relationship with the rest of Europe.
