Great match, but the best team won. Just were Englands leaders? You can have as much ball as you like, but if you dont know what to do with it you are sunk.O'driscoll and O'gara showed why thet are class.

England are really struggling on confidence in Rugby.

I think we have the players it is a matter of getting the right combination of players together.

Was a grand day really. The wife and kids went and watched a rubbish game of football. And I went to Twickenham. In a not so sober state. We got on the train in the wrong direction twice before the game and missed the first 15 or so minutes. Then hijacked a taxi to skip all those poor sods queuing at Twickenham station after the game.

O'Gara was awesome.

That is the difference, when you watch it in detail,Irelands big players were there.we were not. There was one moment when O,Gara found 35 yards, from a kick inside his goal, with just a split second to decide what to do. :albion:

Well done Starry - I was at the win at Twickers two years ago so I know the happy feeling. By absolute chance I happened to be in a certain corner of north-west London today where the Irish hold their own in terms of numbers vis-a-vis the English. Marvellous scenes    I can't believe I hugged Irish Rangers fans (QPR variety I hasten to add), but they were female and rather fit

I have to disagree with all of you (bring on the barrage of abuse) but Ireland had two tries allowed when they shouldn't have been. The one where Ben Cohen slipped, that ball was in touch, and therefore not a try and secondly when Ben Cohen (again!) took the quick throw in, the linesman said that it was not legal and therefore England had to have a full lineout (fair enough England shouldn't have thrown the ball to the back of the lineout 5m from their own line). So technically it is one try that shouldn't have been allowed, but two if you count that Ben Cohen had taken the quick one, and was about to unleash hell on the irish back line!!

In all fairness, Ben Cohen is a carthorse.

My club, London Irish, despite its Irish links has bred better English wingers than him over the last couple of years, take yer pick, Paul Sackey, Topsy Ojo, Delon Armitage, these guys as an Ireland fan I would worry about coming up against :)

Haven't seen it since the pub (when I was a little inebriated!), but I was pretty sure that Cohen had stepped into play before releasing the ball for the lineout. Can't argue with the first try though! Although I do think that in real time it did look like Horgan had kept the ball in.

Replay shows differently, he didnt actually step into play. Also Horgan didn't keep the ball in play, in rugby if the ball touches the line it is in touch. the ball can clearly be seen on the line, therefore in touch. The linesman put his flag up, then down.

All this debate over replays etc... is rugby the new football?

Ireland won by 2 linesman errors to nil. Couldn't call it a victory really.

Well done the Irish but the Welsh ref and his assitants showed a bias that was on the borderline of cheating. The linesman who half raised his flag for an English thrown in and then decided to let it go as the player was through to score should be suspended/demoted from internationals. He obviously saw the foot in touch and chose to ignore it or why start to raise the flag and then put it down again? That's cheating no?

We need southern hemisphere refs for games that involve England against Wales, Ireland or Scotland. Dodgy decisions happen too often for it to be co-incidence when Scots, Welsh or Irish referee the games.

England looked poor for the last three games though. Telling comment from shit stirrer Healey about the players feeling they got better coaching at club level than International level. Wonder if England footballers feel the same? ;)
