Sounds like it was wasteful shooting that did us in. An accidental assist and a wonder volley didn't help of course.

Accidental assist - see shocking pressing and marking and a lack of pressure on the ball.
Wonder volley - see keeper bad positioning/poor reactions, let alone getting done by a long ball over the top.

The club have messed up by being greedy, and instead of reinvesting a bit more of that Ulloa money in QUALITY, we ended up with CHRIS O'GRADY. But its OK because he got some goals for relegated Barnsley. :ffsparr:

It's fine margins tonight but if we don't sort ourselves out with a win on Saturday we are going to be looking at the wrong end of the table for the season ahead. Also anyone who thinks we can challenge for the play offs is deluded with the players we have. No need to panic but Sami does need to get things sorted quickly.

If CMS is the answer then god help us. He has not been able to hit a cows arse with a banjo since he joined. Runs around sure but goal scorer? Nope that was a bloke called Glen Murray. Poyets's biggest mistake.

I asked what his replacement had done---thought Macca played well but no goals again

It's almost as if, if we sell or release all our best players, and then quibble over pennies for their replacements our team weakens? Odd.

2-0. Thought we played well apart from 15 minutes in the first half. Unlucky with the goal and then had to chase the equaliser. Need three points on Saturday now.

I agree that O'Grady may not have been the best purchase, but we don't have £12m sitting in a pot. It doesn't work like that does it.

How we have only spent Buckley's money we were already ffp before we sold ulloa and Buckley so yer there is 12 million sitting there and if not 12 at least more for is to go and buy someone decent

Greedy? We made a loss of 14m in the last published accounts; if you call underwriting that loss being greedy then you need to support Man City.

Very disappointing, our forwards goal scoring record is absolutely dire.

Stockdale mistake, he spilled 2 or 3 on Saturday, and palmed their first straight to the Ipswich striker tonight.

It's all well and good saying it's still early in the season, but a couple more defeats and we'll be 10 or more points off the play-offs already.

It's great playing fast, attacking football with attacking wing-backs, but you've got to score goals to do it. Mackail-Smith and Baldock don't seem to be the 25/30 goal strikers that warrant being so exposed at the back. Oh, and the amount of times Stockdale (and others) go long to our two 5ft7 strikers is painful, and there's not even an alternative in the squad.

This division will always in the main be decided by small margins. Contrary to a few opinions, I really don't believe we are a poor side. BUT...and this is a big one - we may have to accept there are two or three players in our squad who are just not good at this level. It's reality. Certainly, one is JFC, and on recent form, the other is Lua Lua. Jury is still out on CMS and Ince and it's unfair to judge any of the new recruits at this stage. But JFC and Lua Lua...sorry I remain unconvinced.
