can you lift all the music from somebody elses itunes account and not lose it when you sync your ipod back onto your own account?

I don't think so, not if you let itunes sync for you. You'd have to manually manage the music files.

Having said that, the ipod touches allow you to download music direct to them, so there must be some way of not losing those songs when you sync your ipod, so maybe you can. Sorry, I know that's contradictory.

Thanks for that, that looks like what im after.

without going that far into it theres an option of a free download or buy now? my girlfriend has sync'd her new iphone with my itunes but has her own account as well now on her laptop. i assume she needs to download irip and then it'll just transfer my music off her phone and into her account? or is that all a bit too easy?

Dunno. I just have this bookmarked in case the computer with my music on (not this one) blows up!
