Only just discovered this and thought it might be useful to other iPod users.
PROBLEM:
I noticed that some of the CD's I uploaded on to iTunes were playing back with audio glitches that sound a bit like a scratchy record.
The problem is that some CD's have slight scratches and imperfections (even new ones) and when you upload them on to iTunes they develop audio glitches
SOLUTION:
In iTunes, go to Preferences, Advanced, Importing and check the box labelled "Use error correction"
This forces iTunes to slow down and retry areas of the CD where the data is not clearly read. Slows down the ripping process but it's worthwhile.
