Just over a year gone into a 2 year contract my phone busts.

O2 say its now an out of warranty repair

Speak to Apple and point me to consumer law -: http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/ and tell me to put it to O2

Back at 02, they just aren't interested and won't entertain it

I didn't take out any extended warranty, but in 23 years of owning mobile phones I've never had a phone fail inside a contract and fail to get a free replacement. And the 5C is most expensive phone I've ever owned

Anyone else experienced the same?

5C was the worst phone I have owned in a long time. Bad mistake as it proved anything but an upgrade on a 4. Still got a year to run on contract but as I was in Hong Kong I treated myself to a 6Plus at a somewhat better price than in the UK and given my contract phone to my grandson with a Pay-As-You-Go SIM.

Apple typically will let you buy a reconditioned replacement for £99 with a 3 month guarantee. Least they did when similar happened to my original iphone 5.
