Depends what you need ? If you know someone going to the states, get them to get you one there. Just make sure it is AT&T not Verizon model

Depends on your intended use but 32gb Wifi is the most bought model.

Decent amount of space for a lot of apps and films (and photos and music if so inclined) and they are used mainly in the home where you'll most likely have WiFi access.

If you do want to use out and about, either tether to a mobile phone (if yours allows that) or consider a 3 MiFi to create your own wireless hotspot wherever you are.

No they are much cheaper in the states, you can save massive amounts of money! I have just bought an i mac! it costs £1500 over here and $1650 over there, with the exchange rate i got it about £500 cheaper in the end!!

I thought that Apple prices were the same Globally, is that not the case?

Same £ for $ maybe.... but my 64GB 3G model in the US cost me £515 (direct from Apple), my missus paid £499 for a 16GB 3G

Of couse it depends what you want. They look like a nice piece of kit, but I can't see a need for it for me. I have HTC desire, I have a laptop, I have a kindle - and I couldn't do my work on an iPad, so not for me as yet. Will probably relent at some point, but not for a while.

Maybe iPhone 5 but no way iPad 3!

I've heard before that the iPad 3 will be released in time for Christmas - it was in the Metro a few weeks ago as well.

I've got an original iPad - I only went for 16GB and to be honest that's been fine, I've never needed more. I can only see that I would need more if I was travelling and so wanted a lot of movies on it...

This is pretty much the answer for me aswell. They do look nice and shiny, but i'm yet to be convinced that it will actually do anything I cant do on a phone or laptop. I'm pretty sure i'd get one if i had plenty of spare cash, but i also suspect it would be put in a drawer and forgotten after a couple of months.

I've got the ipad2 16gb wifi only, but I also bought a 3g adaptor from 3 and pay as you go 3g sim so don't have to pay monthly rates. I have wifi at home and work so only rarely use the 3g but good if travelling.

Have IPad v1 64gb +3g and is great. Would definately get 3g as without its a potable device that only has internet in your house! I got 64gb as use alot of space for files on it.

I've got wireless at home and in the office, the signal isn't reliable enough on the train, you can't the internet on a plane anyway and anything quick that I need to do, the iPhone is probably good enough. Out of interest, what do you use the 3G for? The price I paid for my Wifi one is worth it, but I'm not sure I could justify the extra expenditure every month...

(Sorry, not meant to be sarcastic, genuinely interested)

32GB Wifi only, in the US $599.00 or £375 in the UK £479.00, a good saving.

Picked up my first generation iPad on eBay once the iPad2 came out - 16gb wifi but just £250 - total bargain. Use it all the time at home, download The Times etc, great for NSC with Tapatalk and some cracking games including Stickman Golf.

Take it out to meetings for work as it's lighter than a laptop, battery life is great and I've got the hang of the on screen keyboard for making notes. I was sceptical as to what I'd use it for ... until I got one. Now I wouldn't be without it.

I have the original iPad and I love it, the no flash thing is a pain, but I can live without it. I was considering upgrading to iPad2 but I can wait for the 3rd version, whenever that comes out.

Mrs Wanderer and I use the iPad every day of the week. It's excellent.
