Think I posted this on Brightonfans a while back but as the season approaches, I'll resurrect it. Who would be interested in taking part in a football prediction competition? I've got a demo set up on Albion Archives if you want a look. Click here to see :-

Prediction Competition

The idea is you sign up and then enter your predicted scores for a number of games every week. When the scores are in, the system works out scores and a league table automatically.

If I get enough interest, I will slip the author a few scheckels to get the latest version with all the associated bells and whistles and get it up and running in time for the new season.

I need to know firstly how many people would play and secondly, how many people would pay to play. If I run a money competition, I would probably use half of the money for end of season prizes to the top players and use the other half to buy goodies from the club shop to give away as spot prizes - Manager of the Month, that kind of thing. That way, the club benefit as well. I'm not looking fo any money myself for running it or for the software - all money would go on prizes.

So, is there any interest?

My Dad ran one of those at work a few years ago. It lasted for about two years, until Mother Teresa popped her clogs.

Does anyone else here play in the Seagulls Fantasy League?
Each week you predict the score, crowd and scorer of the Brighton game - you get points awarded depending on how well you did, then move up and down the league table. If your in the top three in either division at the end of the season, you win some money! Obviously you have to pay to enter...

Next season will be the ninth season it has been running. Just looking at the site, it is £15 to enter - however 100% of this contributes to the prize money fund. Last season's pot was over GBP680 and a fund of over GBP800.00 should be achieved this year.
