75 n.o. at lunch will silence the critics who call for him to be dropped.

Good on him. He rode his luck but has gone on to score 75% of the runs in his partnership with Trott. He is a class act.

That said, he still need to do a lot of work before the winter tour but there's plenty of time for that.

I'm also liking the fact Trott was in the nets this morning at 08.45. There's a guy who knows there's serious competition for batting places and I expect him to drop anchor and bat for most of today.

Well, he's only young - we should maybe give him another 8 or 10 years to sort out his weaknesses outside the off-stump!

Anyone who can score more than zero must be a better option than Cook. Peteirson can FO too

Just stick with him.

He will go to Australia, however he needs to sort out his issues around off stump.

Carberry is not really the answer and Trescothick is too radio to play.

1st quote WRONG, Second quote RIGHT. haha. To be fair Cook was well out of form earlier in the yr.

I'm sure he will lose form again some time and the OP can resurrect this thread and say "so there"

when is the next ashes series after this one?
