and your right about Pietersen.......his record over the last year has been totally awful.
There is no valid reason that he should be picked for England on his batting form .
I keep hearing that he is 'one innings away from a huge score'....if it was anyone else , they would have been 'rested'..(or dumped) ages ago.
Problem now is that with the central contracts that these guys have signed, they cant go and play county cricket to get back into form.....and as for Pietersen, he doesnt even have a county now !

Just stick with him.
He will go to Australia, however he needs to sort out his issues around off stump.
Carberry is not really the answer and Trescothick is too radio to play.

I was thinking this today. There isn't really anyone obvious but I definately wouldn't want Bell in. The Aussies would love it if he played, he is scared shitless of them, he looks like a little boy lost playing against them. I guarantee he will fail if he plays. Would much rather see Cook still play to be honest as I think he has the talent and is going through a blip. He was absolutely superb when he first came in to the team and will be again. He is much stronger mentally than Bell also
