Wasn’t sure about Boo to a Goose - still very decent as they all are, but I thought the ending was messy and confusing. I get what they’re saying, but it was a little clumsy by their excellent standards.

The Trolley was absolutely superb and one of the best across all the seasons, in my view. The two-handers are always very special. A really great episode

Also booked for my birthday in March for the stage play!!! Result!!!

I have caught up.

The claustrophobic feel suggest to me that RS in particular was influenced by that Spanish telephone box short film (from the 80s?).

Finally caught up with the new series

Felt like Boo to a Goose was good but chopped off a bit quick, like they got to 25 minutes then had to hastily wrap up, there was more to be done with that

Trolley Problem was masterful and kept you guessing to the last, brilliant writing

After the heart-warming denouement of The Trolley Problem, it's that time of the week again.

Episode 3: Mulberry Close

The residents of Mulberry Close are keen to welcome their new neighbours at number 9, but there's something about Damon and Val that doesn't seem quite right.

And for next Wednesday...

Episode 4: CTRL, ALT, ESC

Jason, Lynne and their two teenage daughters try out their local escape room, The Killer's Lair.
It's not really the girls' idea of fun, but they love their dad, and he loves following the clues and solving the puzzles.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It was indeed heart warming… and head melting, arm charring, leg incinerating…

Can’t wait for this tonight! Also, Damon and Val? Harvey, surely?

In this house, we don’t maaasturbate

I thought Reece and Steve might appreciate it. And I knew you'd pick up on it. :)

Yes, it's not a particularly pleasant thing to do, especially with two young girls running around now, is it?

We haven’t broken our fast yet… Perhaps you are a naturally slothful person

I use that one often whenever my other half wants a lie in  she doesn’t see the funny side

Agree with the consensus here, first two were OK, enjoyed them, but the third was superb.

Since it's been a quiet week politically and there's little to speculate on Albion-wise, this should provide some much-needed escapism.

And for next week...

Episode 5: Curse of the Ninth

An Edwardian chiller, where a talented piano-tuner is forced to confront the power of a centuries-old curse by the owners and servants of a large country house.
With guest stars Eddie Marsan, Natalie Dormer and Hayley Squires

I’ve only just discovered the show and am now working my way through it (just finished season 1). What an absolute delight. I’d obviously heard of it but for some reason thought it was some sort of surreal sci-fi thing (least favourite genre) based on some comments I heard years ago and never gave it a chance. Tremendous creativity. Often funny and sad in equal measure but beautifully written, based just on S1. We’re trying to ration ourselves to one episode per day to spin it out — and also because the episodes usually deserve a bit of reflection.

"Congratulations on your purchase. You have made an excellent choice."

That's an excellent strategy, but I'd honestly make an exception for the remaining 3 episodes.

There's nothing like seeing great TV as it's shown at the time, especially in an age where whole series are released in one go.

As all but one of the episodes are standalone (the exception being the Halloween special), you can watch them all in time.

But definitely get onboard the 9th series right now, starting at 10pm tonight.

There won't be a 2nd chance.
