I agree, very insightful, all the prisoners they've featured all seem very level headed and philosophical. If you were to meet any of them on the street they would seem normal and would have no clue as to them being criminals yet alone murderers.

It makes you wonder whether these sentences of say 170 years are justified as the cost must be exceptional.

I watched this amazed they'd let a camera crew into death row.

I only caught bits of this having watched The House I Live In, earlier in the week.

The bit that gets me is the discipline required.

Back to the door, hand cuffs on etc.
All with a person you have some kind of relationship with.
Me and my trusting nature wouldn't last 10 mins.

Does the fella with the big neck tattoo have a point by claiming that death isn't the right punishment for murder?
"I'm here being punished because I killed someone and now they are going to kill me".
Don't get me wrong, I've always believed in an eye for an eye but I do get his point, slightly.

In the USA, death sentences that are carried out are classified as homicides (murder). Legalised of course!

Always remember that shocking USA stat about Average life span of black youth on death row is something like 28. But on street it's something like 23

He's not on death row, it's just the name of the programme.

Still seems scary sentencing a 13year old to 170 years.

And the guy clearly had potential to live an interesting and productive life. And yet one night of mayhem as a 13 year old robbed him of freedom. Tragic all round.

Great programme.

Not as scary as 13 year old committing a double homicide.

Another highly recommended documentary is '14 Days in May'. Really affected me as a kid. Made worse when the guy featured, who pleads his innocence throughout was later proved right.

So sad.

It cast doubt, but certainly didnt provide definitive proof that he was innocent.

I concur, I feel much more sorrier for the family of his two victims. It would be nice to see an interview with people such as them once in a while.
