OK. Time to nip this in the bud.

If you see anyone with these signs at the Amex, please take pity and explain to them (or their failures-as-parents) that they are sacrificing all self-respect by essentially begging and that they should save up their pocket money and buy kit from the shop.

If it's one of those signs that doesn't even say please, then feel free to give them a lecture on manners and the entitled generation.

Nothing is taking the gloss off yesterday's result, so this helpful advice is shared in a spirit of generosity and a sense of public spiritedness.

Maybe one way forward might be SOCK TAGS.

In the early seventies, the original Revie-era Dirty Leeds went on a bit of a PR charm offensive in an attempt to improve their image. They'd come on wearing sock tags attached to their, er, socks, and throw them into the crowd before games. Could work pretty well I reckon, as well as saving the club a fortune in throwing away expensive matchday shirts.

This is what they looked like.

Google Images suggests some teams might still even have them.
