I think I’d prefer him to be playing our last two home games.Good news if not too serious. Less good news that he wasn't on the plane to Newcastle.

He was walking fine in trainers so maybe just a slight niggle.Good news if not too serious. Less good news that he wasn't on the plane to Newcastle.
I think he was getting at the idea some folk have that there is something wrong with how they train, not that they do train. As pointed out, if it was due to the nature of the training the same thing would have happened last season.Although players are more at risk of injury in games because of the combative nature of matches I am fairly certain more injuries occur in training than a match simply because they spend the vast majority of their time training.
Lets say, and this is probably on the conservative side, they spend 20 hours a week training. Then the match itself counts for just 7% of their time. It looks worse this season because of the sheer amount of injuries we've had but I'm fairly certain analysis of previous seasons would have more injuries occuring in training than matches. This season has just magnified it.

You could say that the short break between seasons, and the extra Europa games are the likely reasons, as they are the obvious differences in workload. Or you could say that these differences could have been compensated for with a less intense training schedule.I think he was getting at the idea some folk have that there is something wrong with how they train, not that they do train. It’s less about the hours and more about the intensity of the work from a physiological perspective……if they’re being asked to do a relatively high % of training (cumulatively) full-on (as is rumoured to be the case at least) then the propensity to get injured goes up exponentially.20 hours a week training !
Yes - I’ve written off today’s game, but looking forward to Chelsea and Man United.I think I’d prefer him to be playing our last two home games.
You didn’t offer him a lift, then!Drove passed JP on Church road, he was walking fine so hopefully not to Serious.
So glad you were wrong to do thatYes - I’ve written off today’s game, but looking forward to Chelsea and Man United.
Who's coming on for Lamptey when he gets injured halfway through the game? Are we then switching to a back three or forcing Gross back?Pedro back for Chelsea (yay!), Veltman out (boo!) - as per presser.
Odel Offiah I think might startWho's coming on for Lamptey when he gets injured halfway through the game? Are we then switching to a back three or forcing Gross back?
Apparently Barco is available -- I'd try him out at LM or LW, though perhaps as a substitute.Odel Offiah I think might start
He arrived here with the reputation of being arguably the fittest footballer in the world, and then the Albion effect kicked in almost instantlyWhat the Van Hecke has happened to James Milner??
Will he ever be seen in an Albion shirt again??
In reality, he's not played very much Premier League football for the last few seasons, Liverpool included. He's played a similar number of PL minutes this season, albeit in fewer matches - i.e. more minutes per game on average. He arrived here with the reputation of being arguably the fittest footballer in the world, and then the Albion effect kicked in almost instantly

Hope not, went cheap and didn’t get anything out of it. One day they may learn a lesson or two. What the Van Hecke has happened to James Milner??
