[Albion] Infighting amongst our fans

Firstly - racism is unacceptable, at any level. If identified then a long ban should follow.
However, bad language e.g. c**t, whilst overused by those with serious IQ issues, has been part of football (and working class society) since time began. My response to "women and children nearby" is - it's Palace away, what the hell do you expect? If you don't want your 11 year old or your girlfriend to be exposed to that then don't take them to Palace away. It really is that simple.
The odd **** is absolutely fine if not in the family stand… If it’s constant it’s too far imo.

I was standing about three people along from last nights incident. If I'm honest I didn't hear the alledged racial comments, however I did hear shouting from several people calling for stewards which at the time I had no clue what it was all about.
Suddenly a lot of shouting and pushing and shoving, I still had no idea what it was all about but I did stop a few who had nothing to do with it from rushing along and joining in. Both parties carried on shouting and pushing until the alledged offender got punched by the bloke behind who was calling for the stewards. All I did was grab the bloke who made the alledged comments and told him to get on with watching the game while the chap who throw the punched walked away with his mate.
I can't comment on drugs or booze, however it could have got nasty, luckily the bloke who was calling for the stewards and throw a punch / slap had the sense with his mate to move to a different part of the stand.
If it was a racist comment no place for it in the game, easy to say now but maybe instead of shouting for stewards / police just approach the authorities and point the offender out and leave it to them to resolve.
I was close to it and that’s exactly my take on it too. Well done to the guys who called out the racist. I think it sobered him up - to me he looked a ashamed or possibly scared of a kicking

I had a punch thrown at me by some Brighton dresser in Ipswich many moons ago ,he thought i was Ipswich despite being with Brighton fans . I then got split up and ended up with some Ipswich chaps, my mates thought it would be hilarious to shout and wave at me .

Pretty cringey some of the brigades comments

Was fine last night generally for palace away . It’s supposed to have an edge

As someone else mentioned , it’s not particularly coke . It’s just lads and booze .

Thankfully most people accept a bit of acting up at football for what it is

Spot on. Does my head in all this constant complaining.

One of the regulars behind us that we have got to know over the years will occasionally and suddenly explode into extremely loud expletive filled rants when he can't contain his frustration any longer.

A few months ago, just as there was a pause and it went quiet he shouted at the top of his voice 'Ref you really are a complete f***ing useless caaaant'.

He then looked around, and followed it up with 'Oh, I am sorry everyone, but it was that cant in the Black that made me say it' :lolol:

Not talking about the racist abuse, mate.
What then exactly? You didn’t seem to explain yourself very well.
I have just read through the whole thread again and still not sure who is being a “wet wipe” maybe you should have quoted the posts that have rattled you.

I’m not impressed with hearing about fellow Albion fans being attacked and abused by so called Albion fans, as the op said we all stuck together in the past.

Did he spend long in Ipswich Infirmary?

Terry Venables and Alan Mullery having a tiff is one of the most ideologically sound reasons for open hostilities in the history of the human race.

This makes sense.

The guy was calling for a steward for ages. He was shouting so loudly you thought there was a medical emergency in the stand.

I think many don’t realise the effects of ‘coke’ and are blaming it with complete guesswork. It sobers most people up and allows them to drink more. Alcohol is most likely the bad drug here I’d say…
Indeed. I was never particularly into it when I was younger, but whenever I did dabble I don’t ever remember it making me racist.

I’d say just being a dick is probably even more likely than alcohol as the main problem.

Sounds to me like the incident was self-policed by our fans perfectly. No need to tell the stewards.

Sadly not.

The accused wasn't stopping.
The accuser really lost the plot.
The one calling for the steward was probably the most OTT of them all.

Within that there was at least 3 separate factions, who clearly weren't going to let it go as x minutes later the fighting started mid goal celebration.

Ah OK fair enough.

Is it me that finds it odd that the kind of person that would shout for a steward (scream for a policeman?) is the same kind of person that then decides to sort it out with his fists?

“I’m going to tell the authorities about this crime you have committed you dastardly man. Oh they won’t listen. THWACK”.

I think I’d like to meet this man. Sounds like a pillar of society.
