Scott Rush dad told the police that his son might be attempting to smuggle drugs. The police alerted the the airport and when Scott Rush handed his passport over at the airport and they scanned it it set off the warning light and the rest is history.

Disagree with it. Smack kills, but so do other substances like booze and tobacco which are smuggled. Many on here may have tried the odd joint or line, which was no doubt smuggled in from other countries. Not saying the crime is not bad, but the dont think a firing squad state sanctioned murder is either. Odd thing is, the president of Indonesia appeals for clemency for his nationals facing the death penalty abroad, refuses to grant it himself.

Doubt if weed has needed to be smuggled into the UK for some time now. Ive smoked plenty of weed, but never thought about smuggling it into a country where there is the death penalty. I dont know the actual guilt of the matter, but if family of the people thought they were smuggling drugs, and the Australian police thought they were smuggling drugs, Im going to accept they were probably smuggling drugs. If its into a country that has the death penalty for such a thing. Well, goodbye. My sympathy to your families.

The Australian people are going to be outrage soon as in two years' time, a big-time Indonesian heroin smuggler will become eligible for parole in the Australian prison system. If it is granted, he'll be taken to the airport and flown back home to his family.

Unlike the Australian pair, they were lucky to have been caught by the Australian police, not by those in Bali.

If they want to assuage their outrage then they'll have to support capital punishment in Australian Courts so that the same sentence can be executed (sic). What's source for the goose is source for the gander. Did having a custodial system make Man Haron Monis more motivated to attack the Lindt Cafe? Would the death penalty have dissuaded him (assuming he had intended to give himself up)? It might have, in which case innocent lives might have been saved.

Whether it's right or wrong is a different issue. This is about justice. Indonesia is a Muslim Country, those committing crimes there must accept that their Indonesian Courts apply Muslim standards of justice - not necessarily ours. Those Muslim standards allow (for example) death by Stoning, or beheading, in other Muslim Countries.

If you commit certain crimes in the USA, or China, execution might well be a consequence. Justice is seen to be done.

Most of them on YouTube, although you get the feeling that more 'artistic licence' was being deployed as they went into the second or third series - the American 'Hollywood Actor' banged up somewhere in South America who took on almost an entire prison population in something out of a 'StreetFighter' scenario being one example.
