Is it still the ark down the seafront for old school Happy Mondays, Stone Roses etc.? It will be all 30 somethings attending.

Thanks.

Not really - been there three or four times this year on a Saturday, and they always now play the likes of Mumford & Sons, MGMT and Florence & Her f***ing Machine mostly.

Shame. It may be down to the fact I'm almost 30, but I really thought indie nights were so much better when they played a bit of Roses or Mondays, can't think of anywhere that may play stuff like that on a Friday/Saturday night now

I used to go the basement and the underground both long since departed for quality indie nights.

Vaguely remember Audio on Tuesdays. Am 27 so would have been about that time since remember worrying who had I.D and who wasn't quite old enough yet lol. Was deffo before the Escape days though.

Will have to keep an eye on this thread as be very interested for birthdays etc. when venture to Brighton. Crypt in Hastings has nights like that but they've been dwindling gradually over the last few years as all the chavtastic places get shut down. Unfortunately now more or less non existent. Most nights that used to be good and the couple of hour slot that was always the 'classic indie' as a change up from the more modern stuff, is more often drum n bass or crappy house stuff now. Places just aren't the same
If ever stuck over Hastings way check out the Brass Monkey though.... Is owned by same people and while hit or miss, is often free and more the old crypt crowd present. Usually alot of 80's/90's punk/indie nights after a live band.

Went there as a last resort a few years ago, music was pretty decent although they did completely murdered Giddy Statosphere by the long blondes by playing it about 10 times. Plenty of skirt there too. 6/10 would have been a 7 if I hadn't got loose with some absolute horror show.

Anyone remember the name of the club on the right hand side of west street when facing towards the sea next to the toy model shop?

Digital plays stuff like that, but only on Fridays. There aren't many indie nights about.

This man talks sense.

Indie night at digital Fridays. And yeh they play Happy Mondays and Stone Roses. The Cure, The Smiths. All that stuff

Life (Arc) is still good on a Satdi night. Apart from last Satdi, when they upped entry to £15 for Pride without telling anyone. Failing that it's Chav Tav, which was playing Sleeper b-sides and Ocean Colour Scene the last two Satdis.......

Chav Tav? I've never thought of Pav Tav as being chavvy, quite the opposite if anything...

Yeh Life is your best bet.

I noticed there is an Indie Night in New Hero, but I've never been. It's a small club at the end of Dyke Road very close to Churchill Square. Don't think it's great but saw a poster saying it was 80's indie night every Saturday..

Yeah, New Hero's pretty good if you like 80s. My memories of it are tainted by spending all night talking to a porky beast in there before going back to her house and ultimately sleeping with her landlady, courtesy of daytime drinking at Orient away. But I'm sure it's a good night.
