I wonder if there was ever a comedy sketch on TV with just this concept

If there was I’ve yet to see it.

There was a time in the 80’s / 90’s when it was de riguer to stagger from the pub to the local curry house, after time was called, drink more beer and end up face down in your phall.

I remember one next to the pavilion which was dodgy and got worse as the evening went on. By closing time it was ropey as hell. On one occasion we jokingly mentioned the curry tasted of marmite and chicken oxo and they immediately took half off the bill.

Reminds me of the comedy Goodness Gracious Me, where the Indian family regularly went out for an English, to eat.

I had a season ticket in Noori’s for about twenty years, but when I last went (the night before the Liverpool match) it was full of Scousers and there were very few staff working. It wasn’t enough to put me off for life however next time I’m in town I’ll probably seek somewhere else.
