Anyone seen or planning to see this film. It is mean't to be mustard. With the 2nd greatest director working at the moment and a fine young actor it has the makings of a masterpiece. I am really looking forward to this one.

I want to see it. reckon it will have a memento and machinist quality that will require attention but I really like Nolan's stuff.

Leo is not my favourite actor by a long shot, but went up in my estimations after blood diamond.

Hope is the film of the year.

Watched the trailer at work yesterday, it looks quality - similar to the first time you saw the origional matrix! Also has scored 9.5/10 which is usuallya good indicator, going to go and see this wednesday night!

I saw this last night;

Overall a fairly good movie, running on one basic idea. It feels overly long at just over two hours, and the ending you should see coming from a mile off.

Performances are quite decent across the board, without being anything to rave about. Will get Oscar buzz for the effects, which are on the good side (as opposed to The Day After Tomorrow/Armageddon/2012 nonsense).

The first half is deliberately stylized (well, the whole thing is very stylized - not always in a good way) - and is very confusing. Nolan does this on purpose to make the most out of what is essentially one big gimmick.

On the whole, both me and missus gave it 3* - worth seeing - but only on the big screen for the sheer spectacle and definitely not as good as the hype says. The rotten tomatoes aggregate has come right down now too to it's natural resting place.

Oh, and Michael Caine and Pete Postlethwaite have totally pointless nondescript cameos. That's all.

Really though? Really? You asked for people's opinions who have seen the movie. I gave my opinion. I didn't slate the movie - it's fairly good. That's all. If it had been the masterpiece you are hoping for, I would say 'it is a masterpiece'. But it wasn't. It was reasonable.

You have made it sound like a pile of shit like an episode of Holby City or something. Seems odd it is getting 5 stars across the board and 9.3 on imdb. Maybe you didn't understand it. Anyway I will give it a go anyway.

I understood it perfectly well, it is a fairly obvious gimmick that is moulded into a two and a bit hour action flick. As I said, it's a superior movie to the likes of 2012, but vastly inferior to, for example, District 9 - a true modern science fiction classic.

I suppose if you LOVED Transformers and Avatar, then you'll think this is the best movie ever.. but the comparisons to James Bond are outrageous; both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are much better movies.

I also said I'd give it three stars; hardly a pile of shit. Wait until you see the movie before you form an opinion on it, not jumping on the bandwagon because IMDB tells you it's meant to be good.

Also, I'd like to add, as a published and active theatre critic I am less accepting of mediocrity than the average patron; I'm sure you'll enjoy it perfectly well with your humble tastes.

Ah a " critic " that explains it all. Thanks for clearing that up. And your comment at the end sums up critics. Done nothing their whole lives and destroy other people's work. You are right I am sure with my humble tastes I will lap it up.

Did you expect those who didn't find it a 'masterpiece' to lie? I gave it a reasonable review, and it was fairly enjoyable. Just not great. I'm hoping for much better from Toy Story 3. Seeing as you love quoting other people's opinions on aggregator websites and such, you'll be interested to know the first two Toy Story movies are in the Top 5 greatest movies ever made based on ratings.

And, by your logic, 'Inception' is 1% better than 'Rough Aunties' and 15% worse than 'Toy Story 3'..

Here's a thought - go and see the movie, and then tell us what you think afterwards? :)

IMDb Top 250

These are from regular voters.

I notice Toy Story 3 at number 7... where is Inception? Oh yeah, number 83...
