Terrible film that made no sense. Utterly unoriginal, I did not care about any of the characters and not even saved by a huge special effects budget. Worst of all was the laziness of the plot devices- you wake up if you fall in a bath, time passes 1000 times faster in a dream in a dream in a dream and you somehow can't come back from a dream if certain things happen. Real emperor's new clothes.

I'm aware that most people love it. I think it is awful.

Is this a wind up ?

The point of the spinning top is that he doesn't care if it is real or not, which is why he just leaves it on the table. All he cares about is his children.

Nolan is the greatest director of the last 10 years in my book. Yes, ahead of Spielberg. Spielberg has only really done War Horse of any great note since Minority Report. Nolan has directed a host of great films in the last 10 years. For me , overall the only director that has bettered him in history is Spielberg. Inception is an absolute masterpiece there is no doubt about that.

For me Memento is a better film than Inception, but absolutely agree that Nolan is a class act.

Also I adore The Prestige, which again I would put above Inception on the list of Nolan films.

Very glad he has agreed to make another Batman.

As for that final Inception scene, it's just Nolan at his finest. I believe myself it drops and he is back to normality, but a superb end to a great film whatever your take on it.
