Swindon, but used to be Manila
Recently had this in a pub quiz....What team do not have to wear an away kit (ie can wear home kit at all games), due to the fact the old king and queen supported them...

Answer Brighton And Hove Albion

I think its bollocks but is there any truth in it?

yes I did argue with the Swindon supporting Question master...

Which King EVER supported the Albion?

I'll refrain from asking the same question about QUEENS.

:lolol:

When Albion supporter Cormac Murphy O'Connor gets the Pope job, will the team be entitled to wear blue & white skull caps?

Didnt Crewe have a foreign king or queen support them, which is why they are called Crewe Alexandra. Or is this also bollocks.

In a pile of football shirts
Think you'll find it is (or was) the Royals, Reading, from the Royal Borough, used to only ever wear one strip.

But then the lucrative replica shirt market came along and hey presto, and away strip to sell the fans.

I think that's the one, I'll wait for some of our regular Royals fans to confirm.

That's what I thought as well.

Kukev31, I've never heard of a King or Queen Crewe. What country?

I would have said Reading as well (which probably makes it the wrong answer)

It's Reading AND Preston North End.

Reading because they are in the Royal County and PNE becasue they were the first winners of the football league iirc.

So the Swindon supporting quiz master was wrong on 2 counts, it's not Brighton and there are 2 teams that don't have to wear changed strips but could, if they chose to, insist the home team changes.
