I have waited to get over the defeat, but lets me honest we are getting better. FDM was excellent, back four much improved, midefield played the ball really well most of the game. Front two worked hard but never looked like scoring - and there was the problem

Kuipers went down very early for the goal. Can't blame him for it. But he did make it very easy for the striker. Later in the game he stayed on his feet in a similar scenario and produced a cracking save.

Having seen it again I would agree, but in that situation the striker should beat the keeper, his other saves were excellent but he was helped by the poor touch of the other Millwall striker.

Had Batt been clean through instead of Morison, Michel would have won that battle. He won the other 3 bouts with the, frankly, rubbish Batt with style and ease. It was a very good performance by Michel, except for not dominating his 6 yard box in the first half but even that wasn't so bad because the defenders knew he wasn't going to, so they dealt with it. As Andy Gray says, it's not so bad if a goalie stays on his line so long as he does it regularly and the defenders know what is going on.

I think if we had had a forward that took the chance that cam their way it would have been any easy win. Although Forster and Murray put a huge amount of effort in they did not put teh final touch on the ball yesterday.

Anyway, why wasn't their number 25 sent off for throwing a punch?

Indeed, and the dreadfful tacjle on Holroyd in front of the North STand should have been red, and the penalty should have been given. That said - we did most things well except score.

Where was the service?

I didn't think Batt was rubbish at all, the only thing he lacked in his game yesterday was finishing, he worked hard, held the ball up well and his oace caused our defence problems throughout the game.

Much improved back four that made a school boy error, how do you work that one out then ?

There was a lot of service. Lots of good through balls that resulted in no touch or a touch then a turn around and hold the ball. We never hurt them with these. There were also a lot of balls in the box that just needed a touch.

Conceding 1 goal instead of the normal 3 or 4. An improvement.

He saved us from that gangling no. 25 twice in the closing stages. Went down pathetically easy for the goal though. Goal's still squarely down to Virgo mind.

Only my second game this season (Oldham being the other one) and we did look much better than then. If we had been nearer the end of the season with no chance of going up or down we would probably be saying it was a good game and unlucky not to get something out of it.

Unfortunately it isn't nearer the end of the season and we are still in the doo doo although being a "glass half full" type I think we will stay up.
