That's a great article. "It's quite dangerous, I think, to incite this kind of resentment against a perceived enemy." - that could be said about everything that's believed by the morons.

Most of you all know that I am a white British Muslim and I am FOR Christmas!!!! It's absolutely ridiculous that anyone wants to ban it. And I don't know a single Muslim , Jew, Hindu etc who expects Christams to be banned or even toned down. Why don't they ask our opinions first before the get on their high, blind horse!!!! :censored: :censored: :censored:

Now had a chsnce to read it carefully. I didn't know the details but when still living in the UK did meet people related with Councils who really thought that Christmas needed to be toned down and made 'less religious'. So although many stories may be pure myths there is still defýinately an UNCOORDINATED campaign out there. Let's hope it stays so.

That's the point, though. "They" don't ask your opinions, because "they" don't exist and there is no horse to get on. Nobody has ever attempted to ban Christmas or tone it down.
It's bullshit made up by The Sun, the Daily Mail and the Daily Express.
They have repeated this bollocks for so long that people accept it as fact, despite all the evidence.
Every time you hear the immortal phrase "It's political correctness gone mad" you know what paper these numpties read.

It's all a load of nonsense anyway.

I am a Catholic by birth, but atheist by intellect, however my son was set an interesting challenge by his RE teacher the other week.

Challenge was to find one Christmas card (Charity ones excluded) that featured the baby Jesus in the Manger, which, correct me if I am wrong, is the point of the whole thing.

You guessed it, I was with him when he tried to locate one...we went everywhere, Asda, all the newsagents, and trendy card shops that populate the north laine..not one!, loads of references to getting drunk, cartoon Santas, naked men with plum puddings hiding their plum puddings, etc. etc. , no Baby Jesus.

Finally found one in the back of Clinton Cards in the "Religous" section.

So what is under attack? the celebration of debauchery, over indulgence, financial ruin, spoilt kids, and marital break up... because the whole pont of the festival has disappearred anyway to be replaced with this decadent American plastic farce.

This year I am going to make a point of singing "Happy Birthday dear Jesus" at Christmas dinner to remind the kids why we are all sat there in paper hats eating my sisters terrible turkey.

You can always tell Christmas is coming. When the first story appears saying it’s going to be banned.

I’m surprised it took until December this year. There is normally at least one in the media come November.

No more reliable than the Daily Mail that article.

Except it includes things like actual facts rather than the just repeating urban myths.

It's almost spot on about that twat in sonning and his 'xmas' decorations. His neighbours have been asking him to tone them down for years because it results in an increase in crime in the area and them being unable to drive down their own road. Last year emergency vehicles were unable to attend an emergency because of that **** and his 'display'. So this year Wokingham council injuncted him to limit the display, thats all - limit it. Not ban it.

And still the twat thinks he can get one over on them and f*** his neighbours off once again.

There are just as many people around who take the pee out of that paper as there are those that laugh at the Mail, dont belive any of the bolloxs in either of them.
Make you own minds up, and buy the Beano.
and dont forget the League paper on Sundays, simply the best.

Can I set him another challenge?

Can he buy a fresh hot cross bun in December?

Good point. I try to always send religious cards at Christmas and they're getting harder and harder to find. I don't think it's got anything to do with 'political correctness', it's just that they don't sell. I mean, if you're going to start bringing religion into Christmas ...
