High up on the South Downs.
Radio 4 is increasingly a campaigning station dealing with diversity issues, LGBT struggles, gender identity issues, mental health problems, feminism, transsexuals, islamophobia, racism, inequality at the workplace and sexual abuse. We're very lucky to have these affluent, Oxbridge educated, metropolitan liberals telling the rest of us what to think. God bless them!

I know I'm being pedantic, but I'm sure that one webpage isn't exactly squeezing the general licence payer of their hard earned pennies. More those looking for something to bitch about.

I love the BBC. News, web, podcasts, radio, iPlayer, brilliant documentaries, and all totally ad-free, which is massive to me. Even if I never switched on BBC1 or BBC2 (which I do), for £145 a year ? I'd happily pay double. Its brilliant, I use it loads. Its not perfect of course, not everything is my cup of tea, but you'd miss it if it was gone. Anyone who's ever watched TV abroad would reinforce this.

I'm not 'offended' by it. But it does make me a bit uncomfortable when people fuse sport with historical conquest and bloodshed. I rather hope folk would get on with patriotically supporting their team rather than adding a nationalistic edge.

As for the article itself, well people are discussing it, so it has value.
