Thought we'd be stuck with Alibigor for years, would be fantastic if we can find a way to get rid.
He's a decent mid-table Serie A-style defender who at 26 is unlikely to become much better. Waste of money and waste of time imho. He played 33 games last season and I think I noticed his existence maybe five times, and frankly it wasn't a great sight those times either.

Good luck to him if he gets the opportunity. Not amazing (by any stretch) but a decent squad option. Get the feeling he would look twice the player in a different system
Which is why he was bought. His role was second choice LCB because he was left footed and has ok passing. He played many of those games at left back, to which he's totally unsuited, because we had no back up plan to Estupinian, despite many fans pointing out this was an area that needed strengthening.
That said I'm mostly with hkfc. With Barco in the back up left back role we should be able to upgrade LCB number two in this window, in which case I will drive Igor to Gatwick myself.
Ye of course, I see the gap he came to fill and it was necessary to get another left-sided defender in. But need to be careful about buying 25+ year old players - they need to be good enough or there's a fair chance of sitting around with them for years (like Locadia and Andone to mention some examples) with no buyers interested. Thankfully we might get most of our money back... No idea why the hell Milan would want him though.

Tough one this, I won't be particularly bothered no matter what happens.
I don't think the constant shifting from LCB to LB and back has done him any favours, wouldn't mind seeing him one more season in a more settled role (even though it's more likely that he'll be a back-up to Estupinan/Barco).
The biggest fear is that he's let go and the only cover is academy players/Milner. Then all it takes is a knock to Estupinan before Barco is tied up with defensive duties instead of swashbuckling in the final third (which is one of the things I look forward to seeing the most come August).

Quite. I think it's worth considering that players have different strengths and weaknesses under different managers. BDB under Potter was a revelation, for example.
IMO Igor is already good enough for our realistic ambitions of a PL finish next season (10-15th). If he leaves I'm not sure we'd get much better at that level. Depends on the £ I suppose.

I feel if Igor had been an everpresent he would have been in conversation for player of the year, i could see a real fan favorite in there. But as a back up in and out of the side its hard to get a rhythm going, Webster struggled same way.
I don't think it is close to being 'a tough one'.
Igor cost us a fair bit of money, and its fair to assume he's on a good wage. 'First XI costs', rather than 'back up option costs'.
For those costs we definitely can - and should try to - do better.

Lot of exaggeration on here at how bad he's been. Perfectly decent squad player for me who can play CB, LB, or LCB. He's had some up and down performances, but to be expected when in & out of a new team in a new league.

We paid what? Roughly £15m? In Prem costs unfortunately that's back up option money.... Maybe our view of costs can be a bit warped as normally we're going for young cheap players to develop. But for a 26 year old with Serie A experience £15m is back up option money.
