Do you do the Ignore function

Do you have anyone on yours?

If you do, do you tell everyone, especially the person on your ignore list?

If you do, does it give you a stiffy?

Yours interested of Burgess Hill.

I find I can quickly page down past the various crackpots, attention seekers, regular purveyors of tedium and "aren't I the funniest person in the world" merchants if I can't be bothered to deal with them that day.

I wont name names ... but I probably don't have to

I find even the people that I don't agree with or occasionally offend me can at other times also post interesting things so I prefer not to ignore anyone. Being taken outside of your bubble sometimes isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I'm intelligent enough to scroll past any rubbish I don't wish to read but equally, I find using the ignore function akin to sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "la la la la".

I have no interest in making this forum an echo chamber of opinions I agree with. I want to see opinions I disagree with because it helps form or strengthen my own opinions. It's also interesting to see what people are talking about on a variety of subjects, whether there's something I specifically disagree with on another subject or not.

I ignore the Brexit thread because it is going to add no value to my NSC experience, but I'm an addict to the Running thread. There's every chance there are people I regularly speak to on that thread who hold opinions which wildly differ to my own, but it doesn't mean I don't ever want to hear from them again. I believe you can draw a line between fundamentally disagreeing with people on one subject, but having commonalities on something else which matters more. A good friend of mine is, in my opinion, fundamentally wrong about immigrants coming to our country and working and adding genuine value to our society. But he's a darts player at my level who I enjoy having a session and a few jars with - I'm not going to give up that friendship because we fundamentally disagree on an important subject.

I don't have anyone on ignore but if putting people on ignore could give me an erection I may give it a try. Got to cheaper than Viagra.

Mostly agree but there are a handful who post nothing but bollocks with no redeeming features at all (mostly on Brexit thread and anything to do with football violence) so they are on ignore.

Yep, pretty much the same for me. If you can't have a conversation with them without them getting abusive if you disagree, they're not worth conversing with.

No.
If I did, I wouldn't bother announcing that someone had been put on it, as I think that's twatish.

Agreed, what's even more twatish is when they repeatedly claim they are ignoring you then quote what you are saying .. no prizes for guessing who that might be

Are we angling for a removal of the ignore function?

Terrible idea

The greatest and most hilarious flounces of all time all involve use of it
