Ignore and Buddy lists

OK I know what the ignore list is, but what does the buddy list do? Does it inform you when your "buddies" are on-line? Any other special features.

Used ignore button for first time yesterday, but don't have any buddies!

I think you can do one pm and send it to all thhose on your buddy list.

That's how Desert Orchid pm's so many people about how good Jake Robinson is every 5 minutes...

Yes it does tell you when your buddies are online. As Chappers says you can do one pm to all buddies, or send a pm and tick whichever of your buddies you want to send it to in one go.

You can also opt via options not to have any pm's sent to you at all but if you're on the buddy list you can override that.

Sorry for being thick (someones got to do it) but what does the ignore buton do? Does it just not send you their PMs or does it block out all their posts or what?

It blocks out that particular person's posts. You do have the option of reading it if you want to by clicking on a link.

Try it. Put someone on your ignore list for an hour and see what happens. It's easy enough to delete afterwards.
