If, as is beginning to seem more and more likely, we sign no-one other than Orlandi, does anyone actually believe we are stronger than this time two days ago? (i.e. before Noone was sold). If we're not, what was the point of selling him?

Tbh, Orlandi looks like a more versatile, but more injury prone, carbon copy of Nooney, but we have also cashed in because there is no way that orlandi has cost the same amount as we sold Nooney for. Also, Gus will probably be able to understand Orlandi a bit better that Nooney haha :) so all in all I think it was a good deal

As Gus said, Cardiff met the valuation, Noone was offered better cash terms. Simples! Plus Noone was always going to be behind Buckley and Lua Lua when they are fully fit.

I am led to believe Swansea terminated his contract, so in essence a 'free' transfer! From a Swansea season ticket holder, 'quality player when fit'!!

IF you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs, then you'll be a man, my son.

Well we're supposedly about £1.5 million better off, so that was the point in selling him. It's pretty simple really.

No-one here has a clue about whether or not Orlandi will work out to be better than Noone, but is very very possible that he will be (not like we have shipped out our best player). And we are almost certainly (I would think) up on the deal financially.

The point of selling was for a large cash fee. As for being stronger time will tell, but Gus obviously thinks so. But why is it more and more likely we'll sign nobody else? Everything I've seen says the opposite.

I think Noone was surplus to requirements - Orlandi sounds like he's much more versatile, so it's good business all round. With the addition of Bruno, Bridge and Crofts, we have a much better squad than last season. I really think we have a very good chance of a top six finish.

I like to think of it in terms of-

Kuszczak- improvement on Ankers, Brez etc

Bruno- seems to be an improvement on Calde

Bridge- VAST improvement on Painter

Orlandi- better end product than Noone by far

Crofts- improvement on Dicker, Sparrow, Navs. The messiah compared to Harley

The team has improved but we really could do with one more striker. When/if we get him, we will be ready to compete for automatic promotion.

Why does that make a difference? If a deal were to go through at 11pm why does the fact its 5pm now make it less likely?
If we were not talking to anyone this morning and are not now we are still just as unlikely to sign someone.

All in all, this has been a great window for us. Vast improvements with our defence, and two new midfielders which look better then some we have at the moment. And all of this while losing 2/3 players. We can't just look at the least few days. And I do still think Gus has one last trick up his sleeve!
