... we end up drifting away now and end up finishing 10th-12th (which I don't believe we will by the way - still backing us for play offs) can we please agree now to not be a bunch of self-righteous moaning C*NTS and actually recognise that despite not making the play offs, it has still been a f***ing BRILLIANT season when all is said and done, and that staying up has been an achievement in itself?*

*before you start disputing this, please look at the amount of money spent by Ipswich and Leicester this season on both transfers and wages, and see where they are in the table....

I thought this thread was going to feature Rudyard Kipling's poem.

Anything top half and above Palace is a brilliant season.

Yes, definitely (as long as we finish above Palace!). The fact is we've shown that we can compete against the biggest sides in this league, and are just a few quality players away from being genuine play-off and even top 2 contenders.

Huh. That's one view. However after losing 3-1 at Blackpool I think drastic action needs to be taken as we've obviously reached a plateau and now we're falling away badly. I think all the loan players should be sent back, all the contracted ones should be sold, Poyet should piss off to Chelsea and Bloom should sell up to someone with money to invest who cares about the club. Failure to do any of that will see this officially go down as the worst season in living memory and we may as well close down the Amex and turn it into student accommodation. Yes I know there may have been worse seasons, but for how long must we keep looking back? The benchmark is now, not what we did last year.

... or in other words, yes, I totally agree with you.

It really has been a fantastic season, whatever happens from here on in.
But, the support police seem to be doing more than their fair share of moaning.

I don't see us drifting off. Essentially there are 6 teams fighting for 3 play off spots and if you look at the recent records of the others there are none that are setting the word alight ... on the contrary, whichever measure you might use we are equal to or better than 50% which is really all we need.

You won't find anyone disagreeing with you and next season will only really need a few tweaks (GK, couple of FB's still? Figure out how to get best from CMS) to put us amongst the more likely to be up there at the end
