... we end up drifting away now and end up finishing 10th-12th (which I don't believe we will by the way - still backing us for play offs) can we please agree now to not be a bunch of self-righteous moaning C*NTS and actually recognise that despite not making the play offs, it has still been a f***ing BRILLIANT season when all is said and done, and that staying up has been an achievement in itself?

I bloody hope so.

Irrespective of where we end up finishing (I think Top 10 and just missing the play-offs is probably most likely at this stage), this has been a brilliant season where we've competed well in a very tough league and given ourselves a nice platform on which to build.

Anyone who can't see that is an idiot.

*before you start disputing this, please look at the amount of money spent by Ipswich and Leicester this season on both transfers and wages, and see where they are in the table....

Agree 100% BUT this is NSC. Never gonna happen!

Without a decent prolific goal scorer how are we going to beat West ham Middlesborough Birmingham Reading, play offs? get real

West Ham, Reading and Southampton have shown themselves to be the class teams .... the rest are all beatable, there'll be 3 from 6. 'Boro and Hull are two of them and look at the goals they've scored!!

This for me has been the most enjoyable, stress free season of my fourteen years of following The Albion. Long may it continue, staying in this league or the play off's.

Don`t get me wrong i would love it if we reached the play offs , i just think they are just a bridge too far following dropped points against Millwall Hull and Doncaster

If you look at the contenders for those 3 spots (realistically there are only 6) and look at their recent form over 3 and 6 games then there's only a 2 point spread in it .. and they have all dropped points that they would have expected to pick up. So I reckon you could throw balls up in the air it's so tight and there's so much inconsistency. Fact is, whichever 3 make it are going to be underdogs to whichever of the current top 3 are there, unless someone else can go on a winning run now but nothing to suggest anyone will

Exactly - it's 3 from 6 for the play-offs now. And it's great to be one of them - nine games to go (four of them bloody tough ones against some of the best teams in this league.......that just leaves five banana-skins!)

This has been the best season we have had for years. I for one have loved every second of it. That is all.:rave:

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too...

You've probably got 100 threads about your poor performance on NSC

10th to 12th fair point and agree

15th/16th sort of thing (don't think will happen agree play-offs or at least 7th/8th) and they could be excused their clueless moaning

I have looked and that and will now begin disputing it.
Firstly those teams are probably the two biggest underachievers in terms of money spent related to league position, they are exceptions not the rule. And they're not going down.
So I don't think it's an achievment just to stay up, I don't think anyone in the club would think that either.

Obviously a top half finish will represent a very decent season. There will be a slight disappointment if we do just slip away from the playoff race though, as it has looked like a real possibility. But it wouldn't be a big falure.
